Shape and Men's Fitness magazines just recently came out with their third annual sex survey, and one aspect of it has stuck in the minds of the media across the great wide Internet: we believe social networking gets us laid faster.
At least, that’s what four out of five women think, right along with three out of five men. Over 1,200 men and women participated in the study for the health and lifestyle magazines, with 80 percent of the females and 58 percent of the males agreeing that our digital age of instant electronic connection leads to sex faster than in eras past.
Of course, only 38 percent of women claimed to have actually slept with anybody thanks to online socializing, suggesting maybe that it’s just a perception that smart phones and laptops get you into your lover’s pants more quickly. And Google continues to be one of the most popular background checkers for potential dates, with 70 percent of women and 63 percent of men saying they use online tools to screen out those who would not be good matches. And 42 percent say that, when its time to say goodbye, texting is the way to go. Harsh.
