In the UK, a Peterborough mail carrier faces incarceration for stealing people's mail. But it's not so much that he stole, as it is what he stole that we're interested in.
Twenty-four porn DVDs, sixty pieces of lingerie, a plethora of sex toys, and receipts from adult toy stores were found in the attic of one Alec Clark's home. The man had been opening multiple order packages, taking something out, repackaging the rest, and sending them on their way. Clark admitted he'd begun stealing adult items five months after he'd started working for Parcelforce, a British postal service owned by Royal Mail. He pleaded guilty to two counts of theft.
“It seems I'm really into something that's overtaken my mind. I had no intention of doing anything with it,” Clark said.
For eleven years, Clark was employed as a delivery driver and collections manager in Peterborough and Cambridge until he was suspended in May.
A spokesperson from Royal Mail assures, “The overwhelming majority of our people are honest and we have a zero tolerance policy to any dishonesty.” So don't worry! Your pervertibles are safe with them!
But the news, as reported, leaves us with one big question. Will the items Clark stole ever reach their rightful purchasers? We'd like to know.
