David Michael Muringer, 40, a Florida man, has been charged in the death of his girlfriend, 48-year-old Doris Lopez, who was found stuffed in a cardboard barrel in the backseat of her car on October 29th of last year. As it stands right now, he's been charged with manslaughter and the unlawful disposal of human remains.

What exactly happened that fateful night?

Muringer at first blamed it all on drugs. Either she'd overdosed and another addict stuffed her in the box, he told police, or she'd been killed by a drug dealer. However, he changed his story a few days before his arrest, saying he accidentally killed Lopez during rough sex.

Muringer told officers he choked Lopez until she passed out while they were having rough sex and, when she came to, he did it again. The second time, he said, he left the apartment after she passed out. By the time he returned, Lopez was dead. Fearing a return to prison, Muringer kept her body in his bed for two days before deciding to seal her up in the barrel.
