Nothing against Los Angeles, but this is the first thing we’ve ever read that makes us think it could be fun to live there. The Adult Film Workplace Condom Initiative will appear in their ballots in June asking LA residents whether adult film actors should be required to wear condoms. All we get is BS about taxes or education. Feh. This is way more fun.
But does it belong on a ballot? NBC Southern California reports that supporters of the measure gathered far more signatures than they needed to get the proposal on a ballot; the requirement was 41,000 and they managed to reach 70,000. Under the proposal, production companies would have to agree to use condoms on the film set in order to get adult film permits.
Michael Weinstein, of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, likened the proposal to other safeguards in the film industry, saying, “If you’re going to blow things up, you have to have the fire department involved.” But City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, who called the measure “a needless and wasteful expenditure of public resources,” has filed a lawsuit against it, stating that California law already mandates condoms use when workers are exposed to blood-borne pathogens. Later on, Cal/OSHA officials said “local authorities can require condom use on adult film sets.”
So should actors be required to wear condoms? Does it wreck the fantasy? Should that matter? Throw that one out at the water cooler today and see who bites. You might make some new friends.

I do think it's a good idea to have the actors use condoms while working.
It's a good way to get others into using them and there's now condoms out that's so thin you really don't have much difference.
So it's a 2 thumbs up for me!!
I'm a brat I rather mandate something that will improve the economy or make society safer. Logically every one that can't afford children should have to wear condoms or take birth control. Logically if some one with a diease is passing it around their name should go into a data base so everyone can check up on people before they sleep with them. The yearly physical exam should inculde a full test of all dieases to catch them before they spread, some are curable. Accurate sex ed would be more helpful and free condom and birth control stations. How bout an added incentitive to not have children? Most people have the misconception that having kids give them more tax breaks and an easier time getting a home etc. So we end up with wealthfare for life families.
