I witnessed a Halloween transformation over the last few years, especially in the kinds of costumes you see. I am eighteen and fresh out of high school, and let me tell you, high school girls are crazy, and do crazy things, especially around Halloween. The difference between middle school and high school costumes is shocking. In eighth grade, you don't see some of the skimpy sexy outfits that are thrust in front of you as a drooling freshman. The whole shift between Halloween being scary and sexy seems to gravitate around high school.
High school turns everything into a competition. The clothes you wear, the books you read, the people you hang out with, and almost everything else, are all brought under the piercing glance of peer pressure and the surging tide of high school hormones. This includes Halloween. There was always a Halloween theme all throughout the month of October, leading up to the 31st. Everyone would run around talking to each other about plans for Halloween, whether it be what costume you were planning, or which party you were attending. Now, I'm only speaking from my experience from my high school and the girls I knew and talked to, but it seemed like they were always trying to outshine each other, especially in costume. Imagine an un-dead rendition of prom and that's what you get. All the pressure to look the "best" pushed many girls to turn to the ways of the dark side of the force, known to some as sex appeal, and did they have a talent for it.
It really shocked me walking into school on Halloween as a freshman. I usually got there early, and as I walked on to campus, everything seemed normal. A few students were dressed up in interesting costumes, nothing spectacular and I remember thinking that I was glad I didn't dress up because of how few other students were. I was confused and naive to the fact that all the girls, and the guys who were "items" with the girls, were waiting for their entrances.
As the bell for class approached, Students began to slowly trickle on to campus, costumed students that is, if you can call it that. I was shocked. Some girls were walking in wearing little more than a bikini, with legs done up in fishnets for witches, and sparkle covered tops that only served as a nipple covering. I didn't know what to make of it. I was sure these people would be carted off by the campus staff to put on something more appropriate, but boy was I wrong. These girls were in no danger of getting dress coded, rather it seemed like a competition to see how far each girl would go to one-up the next. This was not exclusive to the ladies however. A few of the guys were honestly wearing Speedos and body paint and calling themselves Tarzan.
Gone were the innocent days of middle school dress up parties with candy for Halloween. All of the candy was walking around campus, with their "tricks and treats" almost falling out. It was like being on an alien planet or another time period. The fun of Halloween had gone from the fear of what goes bump in the night and which haunted houses were open that year, to drooling over girls, and I assume girls drooling over guys, who present themselves in such a revealing way.
So honestly, the thing that makes Halloween so sexy is people. They dress in an alluring way because they have an excuse to. It's Halloween and people just love occasions to dress up, and in the case of Halloween, it means tight clothing and daring cuts for some, and awesome swordsmen from movies such as Wesley from "The Princess Bride" (cough cough), for others, Halloween is a time to have fun, express yourself, and feel guilty about how much candy you ate.

LOL@ the candy walking around with their tricks or treats hanging out. That was a nice one! Cute.
I'd so rather scare the heck out of each other and roll yards, and other fun, wild things than walk around the streets half nude. Just doesn't really appeal as much fun to me, unless it's me and my lovie in the bedroom, and still, on Halloween, scary and fun is my thing.
Thanks for reading and commenting I'm new to writing, so tank you a lot
