"Love yourself first and everything falls into line."
Start off by making some time for yourself. We all have to work, or run errands constantly, but it's important to take a little you time every now and then. Valentine's Day is no exception. You may have to wait until the end of your day, after you've gone to work and completed your to-do list. Sometimes if you're particularly lucky you can start off your day with you time. No matter when this you time is, enjoy it. Relish in the quiet relaxation of just being you.
Pamper yourself on Valentine's Day. Looking and feeling good for you is a great way to start enjoying the holiday. Take a nice relaxing bath or shower. Whether you're using bubble bath, a luxury bath salt, or bath milk, just enjoy the relaxing feeling of the hot water on your skin. Light a few candles and enjoy the relaxing glow as you soak. Give yourself a facial and do your nails. Shave, and massage a nice body lotion or cream into your skin. Just take the time to make yourself feel good. Being able to feel beautiful and sexy in your own skin is absolutely important.
Next throw on something that makes you feel good. It doesn't matter if it's sexy lingerie, a silk robe, or a big fluffy house robe and slippers, just so long as it makes you feel good. You can even wear a pair of lounge pants and an old baggy shirt. The only one who's going to see you this Valentine's Day is you. If you feel good and comfortable, that's all that matters.
Now that you're settled in and beginning to feel good about yourself, feed your sweet tooth. Just because you don't have a lover to buy them for you doesn't mean you should go without your sweets. Buy yourself your favorite chocolates, candies, or cake. If chocolates aren't your style you can get cake, ice cream, or cupcakes. If you want candy but want to stay away from something fruity or those chalky little hearts that are so popular this time of year, get something spicy instead, like cinnamon bears. Treating your sweet tooth is a good way to prove to yourself that being alone doesn't have to mean going without.
Another way to treat yourself is with a nice glass of wine. If you're not into drinking or want to avoid an alcoholic path try a sparkling juice instead. Still not satisfied? Break your diet just this once and get that sweet cup of coffee, full of froth, sugar, and sprinkles you've been dying for.
Having been pampered and treated by the most important person in your life, you can take the next step for enjoying your day. Get a good book or a movie. Read something with steamy love scenes, try avoiding the gooey fluff typical of romances, and instead go for something a little sexier. Find a book with scenes that make you tingle and pant with want. If you're planning to go for a movie, avoid romances or anything sad altogether. No one wants to cry on Valentine's Day. Watching couples act sweet and kissy, even in the movies, will only serve to put you in a foul mood. Instead watch a good action or comedy. Laughing until your side hurts will help you keep a positive and enjoyable mood during the holiday.
Finally it's time to give yourself the greatest gift of all... An orgasm! It doesn't matter if you're a man or woman, being able to find that special release will make your day. Orgasms, like chocolate and laughter, release endorphins into your body that make you feel good. Feeling good and being happy on Valentine's Day when you're single are important. Use your favorite vibrator or other sex toy and make yourself cum hard. Just enjoy the sensations of your flesh and self-love.
It doesn't matter if you're single and the rest of the world seems to be bent towards rubbing it in your face that they aren't. So long as you love yourself and celebrate that fact, you'll have a happy Valentine's Day.
Here are my recommendations for the accessories of having a good holiday alone:
Steamy Books:
-Submit by Judith Ivory. This book has some truly sweat worthy sex scenes. It’s about an English gentleman with a sordid past and a prudent widow with quite an imagination of her own.
-To Marry a Texan by Jodi Thomas. Steamy love scenes, intriguing characters, and hot Texan cowboys… what’s not to love?
-Anita Blake Vampire Hunter (series) by Laurel K. Hamilton. A spunky woman who hunts vampires, raises the dead, and loves lycanthropes… And several others along the way. This series just gets better and better, and the plethora of characters will be sure to leave you hot and bothered.
-Kink by Saskia Walker and Sasha White. Two stories of kinky pleasure combined into one book, these tales will leave you breathless. If you've read 50 Shades of Grey fifty times already and are scared its bindings are going to break, try this book for awhile instead.
Great Movies:
-Chillerama. This is one of those so bad it’s funny movies. It includes some sweet romantic scenes that aren't fluffy in the least but isn't for those with weak stomachs. No really, if you get grossed out easily, don’t watch this movie.
-Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Space Balls. Let’s face it, Mel Brooks is still a classic king of comedy. There’s nothing better than a good laugh to make us feel good so why not try a Mel Brooks marathon for some laughs.
- Thor. It’s a great action movie and as a bonus we get to see Chris Hemsworth with his shirt off. Who doesn't love that?
-Ripper Street. While this isn't a movie, it is a great new television show. Set in Victorian England the police of White Chapel deal with moving on after Jack the Ripper’s reign. And you get Matthew MacFadyen, the hottie who played Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice (2005.) Enjoy this gritty police drama and drool over him, and his accent, this Valentine’s Day.
