Oh, Fred Phelps, you loathsome evil villain. Can't ever leave horrible enough alone, can you?
Yes, folks, Fred Phelps, of the “God Hates Everyone But Us” Westboro Baptist Church, has a new set of funerals to protest. If you guessed those of chief U.S. District Judge John M. Roll and the other shooting victims in Tucson, Ariz., you're correct.
The pernicious pastor began his video announcement of WBC's intent to protest at the funerals of “however many dead” in the tragic attack by thanking God for “the violent shooter.” Phelps went on to explain why the U.S. caused the shootings saying, “[God] turned the hand of a violent veteran on you.”
Phelps claims Judge Roll was killed because the federal government put Westboro Baptist Church on trial.
We're (again) shocked and appalled at Rev. Phelps' interpretations of the teachings of Jesus Christ. The scripture says, "Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love." (1 John 4:7-80). Guess the not-so-reverend Phelps conveniently missed that part of the Bible?
