We know, we know: Size matters. Even when women say it doesn’t matter, it matters to men, especially the ones with “short penis syndrome.” That’s right, there is a medical name for the condition of thinking that your penis is small when it’s actually pretty normal.
“Penile size is a matter of great interest among men who are affected by 'short penis syndrome' or just believe themselves to have a small penis, even though the dimensions of the organ fall within the normal range,” said University of Turin urologists Marco Oderda and Paolo Gontero in British Journal of Urology International, where their work is published this month.
Researchers and therapists suggest that guys who think they come up short should ignore the various enhancement products on the market. More helpful, they say, might be to lose some weight—having a droopy lower abdomen is going to make your genitalia look smaller. Also, try a little manscaping and if all else fails, get thee to a therapist.
No less an authority than the Mayo Clinic says not to blame your, um, shortcomings in the bedroom on your penis size: “Understanding your partner's physical and emotional needs and desires is more likely to improve your sexual relationship than trying to change the size of your penis.”
