A California doctor named Ramon Fawzi Fakhoury, 35, has been charged with sexually assaulting two of his female patients. One was 32, the other 68; and both attacks are said to have occurred in July. The doctor was arrested in August and has been charged with eight felonies.
And he's still treating patients … with the court's approval.
Fakhoury is contracted to work part time for the Loma Linda University Hospital where the attacks are said to have happened. And get this: The alleged attack on the 68-year-old woman only came to light when the second attack was reported. He's been placed on administrative leave from the hospital but he also has offices in Rancho Cucamonga and Norco.
A San Bernardino County prosecutor asked the court to keep Fakhoury from treating female patients, and the court said no, but did require a female RN be present. The Medical Board of California is seeking suspension of Fakhoury's license. That hearing is on Sept. 23.
