Listen up, all you bad girl actresses. Reese Witherspoon is not amused. She wants good-girl role models for the good girl celebrity-wannabes, and she wants them now!
The Legally Blonde star received the MTV Generation Award for her “enduring Hollywood career.” In her acceptance speech, she talked about her belief that it's possible to be a good girl and maintain a brilliant career as a big movie star.
“I get it, girls, that it’s cool to be a bad girl,” Witherspoon, 35, told the crowd when she accepted the award in Los Angeles on Sunday. “But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show. When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.”
Witherspoon's taking some heat for her comments from some celebrities and media outlets, while others are cheering her on.
Us? We're considering filing the whole thing, award ceremony and all, under “Big Joke On Us”. This is the third year in a row the Twilight franchise taken home Best Movie, and Kristen Stewart's won Best Actress. As if.
