The tattoo on her ass might be what saved her ass. Lauren Proverbs, 21, was accused of a “homophobic attack” on another woman in a restaurant in Hertfordshire, UK, but showed the jury a picture of a gay rights symbol tattooed on her booty to prove to them she wasn’t guilty, the Daily Mail reports.
She said she got the rainbow tattoo in Spain in 2008 while on vacation with a woman with whom she was in a relationship.
Proverbs admitted to punching the other woman, Gina Landon, but claimed it was in self-defense after Landon started acting aggressively and wanting to take the scuffle outside. She said she’d been in a lesbian relationship herself and would never have attacked Landon because of her sexuality. Landon said Proverbs got into an argument with her, her girlfriend and her sister and “She (Proverbs) called me a f****** dyke and a f****** lesbian.”
The jury couldn’t reach a verdict and the judge cleared Proverbs of all charges; she won’t face a retrial.
Kind of a funny place to keep a rainbow, perhaps—where the sun doesn’t shine. But the important thing is it all worked out in/on the end.
