The school clerk who was suspended for appearing in porn in Quebec has been dismissed without compensation. Though the school board has acknowledged repeatedly that, legally, Samantha Ardente (her stage name) has done no wrong, they sent her on her merry way when she refused to allow them to further intrude on her personal life.
“We believe the facts and actions that led to this incident were inappropriate, unacceptable and incompatible not only with our mission but also with the values that we are trying to pass on to our young students,” said Leopold Castonguay, head of the Des Navigateurs school board, in Levis, Quebec.
Yet the school board tried to negotiate with Ardente, offering her a position at another school—so long as she never modeled again.
“I understand them and they understand me, but we couldn't find an agreement,” she said. “Had I agreed to their conditions, I would have basically been prevented from going out and being photographed. This is absurd,” Ardente told reporters.
We couldn't agree more.
Ardente has asked the teachers union to defend her, and is looking into what legal recourse, if any, she has.
