Last summer there was a massive prostitution bust in which a porn actress known as Sierra Sanchez was nabbed for solicitation, among other things. From all accounts, it sounds as though she was more or less a glorified escort service secretary.
The company was called Miami Companions, and Sanchez made appointments for men to meet escorts in Panama and Costa Rica. Eventually she realized how much money callgirls were making, so she began doing appointments. She did a short stint in porn. And then the feds busted down the door.
“I’ve always been around people who were in the sex industry, and now I’m around girls and guys who are normal. And for that first time I see that’s possible for me,” Sanchez told the court in a plea for leniency.
“I don’t think that there’s any question that you’re not going to give up your new goals, and go back to where you were,” U.S. District Court Judge Arthur Tarnow said as he sentenced . “I believe you when you say you’ve found hope.”
Apparently, telling the judge you're gonna be “normal” is the way to go if you've been charged with being part of running a prostitution ring. The judge decided against prison time, and sentenced Sanchez to two years of supervised release.
