Okay, now we know what it takes to get a priest removed from duty tout suite.
Mark Stewart Bullock, a priest at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Towson, MD, was barred from participating in parish or school functions and from celebrating Mass in public. Why? He was caught with no pants on, exposing his penis in the theater of an adult novelty store called the Bush River Books & Movies on January 16.
Two deputies found Bullock after they got complaints, told him to get dressed and charged him with indecent exposure, says the Baltimore Sun (glad they let him put his pants on before they took him away). He’s been ordered to undergo a psychological exam.
Reverend Joseph Barr of the Baltimore Archdiocese had Bullock removed from duty as soon as officials knew about the incident and said, in a letter telling parishioners about Bullock’s removal, that he realized “this information may be shocking and painful for you to hear, which I sincerely regret,” but, he said, “in the interest of transparency and out of an abundance of care for this parish and our community, I wanted to share this news with you directly and ask for your prayers for Fr. Bullock and for our parish.”
So maybe somebody did learn something from all the previous priest scandals and … Wait a minute! Porn stores still have movie theaters?
