CBS took a chance on putting “The Lifestyle” on display in prime time in 2008 with Swingtown, a drama-comedy about spouse swapping in the wild and crazy ’70s. The show didn’t last long. Though perhaps racy by network standards—let’s face it, there is not a lot of swinging that you can get away with showing on free TV.
Playboy TV has no such problems with censorship, though, and will launch a new reality series called Swing on Friday (Feb. 11.) From the new show’s site:
“Every week, Playboy TV is giving real couples the chance to live out their wildest swinger fantasies. But will the experience help their relationships or destroy them?”
Sounds exciting, though we wonder how much of an audience there is for watching the destruction of relationships … Oh, who are we kidding? People still slow down when driving past accidents, they still watch reality TV, and swingers will probably watch Swing.
