Johnnie Brown, 29, of Ocala, Florida, did just that when he decided to pay for everything but the bras he picked out for his lady at his local Walmart. When he was searched, they found $350 in his pocket. He told police he needed that money to pay his rent.

“Times are rough, and sometimes you’ve got to take chances … I messed up, but I ain’t sorry about it,” Brown said. “[My girlfriend] has done so much for me. I felt I had to support her.”

Loss prevention workers detained the wheelchair-bound man until police arrived, and he was arrested for trying to leave the store with $20 of unpaid for lingerie. He's been charged with petit theft.
