Earlier this year, we reported that Northwestern University treated a popular human sexuality class to a live demonstration of the female orgasm, complete with a modified electric saw used as a masturbator. The kids were unfazed, and until the story hit the media and spread like wildfire, nobody complained. And Northwestern even defended the show in a statement!
But once this tale of adult students watching a “live sex show” after being warned it would be graphic made mainstream media, parents were calling in losing their minds over it. Northwestern launched an investigation into the incident. Eventually, Prof. J. Michael Bailey apologized and made plans to discuss it with anyone interested in hearing about its educational value.
However, Northwestern University has decided to remove the course from the curriculum, apparently due to the hysteria the orgasm demonstration caused. Way to teach the kids, Northwestern! The only lesson they'll be learning this year is they're not adult enough to decide what they're allowed to view.
