Running a marathon generally requires a lot of preparation and training. We don’t think anything could have prepared Brett Henderson for his most recent race.
Henderson was running in a marathon in Ohio and he'd borrowed a pair of his father's running shorts for the race. But the shorts didn't fit – they were way too big. You know what’s coming next.
Henderson says he tried everything. He even tried to tie his tank top around the waistband but it was too short. So he decided, at the encouragement of the other runners, to continue running.
“All the other runners were supportive and kept encouraging me to continue, so I was running naked,” Henderson said. “It was cold and rainy, so I wasn't exactly proud of what I was showing.”
Around that time, police officers approached him and tried to get him in the car. When he refused, they tried again. When he refused the second time they used a taser on him.
As if all of this wasn't enough, Henderson says when he came to, the officers were laughing at him. Henderson was charged with indecent exposure.

I think a taser is a perfectly acceptable escalation of force by police. It's certainly preferable to being shot.
