All right, ladies and gents. What do you think? Is there a Marilyn Monroe sex tape?
A fella named Mikel Barsa thinks so. Matter of fact, he's so confident that the woman in the tape is Norma Jean Baker that he tried to sell it at auction for $480,000. He's even got paperwork from the FBI talking about a sex tape and a letter from Alan Brown, a member of the American Film Institute, that Barsa says confirms Monroe is the woman. However, an Associated Press story about the tape says the letter says the woman's identity is unclear.
Here's the thing. According to the Monroe estate, not only does Barsa not have permission to sell that tape, but he's trying to sell a fake. No matter how hard you look, that's just not the same blonde bombshell whose statue now graces the Windy City.
Michelle Morgan, author of “Marilyn Monroe: Private and Undisclosed,” says she's pretty sure there's no way in hell that the woman in the sex tape is Ms. Monroe.
“Marilyn at the time of this tape had a very slim figure, a widow's peak and perfect teeth,” Morgan said.
The girl in the video is said to be of much larger build with a straight hairline and slight gaps in her teeth.
Another “expert” and blogger named Scott Fortner says there are also inconsistencies in Barsa's timeline. Barsa says Monroe was poor when the film was made but Fortner calls this claims “inaccurate and inconsistent because she was already discovered and was a well sought-out model.”
Is it her? Isn't it? Doesn't much matter, we guess. Nobody's buying, either way.
