It’s a job for Miss Marple … or better yet, the Hardy Boys: The Mystery of the Disappearing Cleavage.
The Huffington Post reports that a Google image search for Canadian Parliamentarian Rathika Sitsabaiesan turned up a picture of the young woman with a healthy amount of cleavage—though not at all showcased in a racy or inappropriate way. Interestingly, though the Canadian website The Contrarian found that her official Parliament profile photo is the exact same picture … with the cleavage missing.
The Contrarian writes: “This persuades us that the photo on the official website of Parliament must have originally appeared in the (please forgive us) cloven version, only to fall under the Parliamentary Photoshopster’s digital airbrush. This makes us wonder whether the bowdlerization took place on request from the NDP caucus, from MP Sitsabaiesan’s office, or on the Parliamentary website’s own authority.”
If it was, indeed, a ‘Shop chop, we’d like to declare that the original was perfectly tasteful and removing the cleavage must mean that somebody thinks that in politics you might not want to look too … you know … female. The mystery remains: who would be such a booby?
