The woman who admitted to … uh, has claimed to have had sex with Justin Bieber in a “backstage bathroom” after one of the teen idol’s concerts at the Staples Center in Los Angeles has filed a paternity suit and may now be investigated for having sex with a minor, the AP reports.
At the time of the alleged coupling, Bieber was 16 and Mariah Yeater, who gave birth to a boy in July, was 19.
“It's illegal in California to have sex with someone under age 18. If the other person is not more than three years older, it is a misdemeanor, which carries up to a one-year jail sentence,” the AP says.
One of Yeater’s lawyer says that even if his client is guilty of statutory rape, that “has no bearing on the duties to provide child support.”
Yeater “believes Bieber is the father because there were no other possible men she had sex with at that time.”
Also newsworthy: someone thinks of the baby-faced Bieber as a man.

So exactly how many people do they prosecute a year in California for having sex under the age of 18 since we know that at least 60% of teenagers are not virgins by the time they graduate high school.
This is another one of those laws that you either enforce it all the time, or not at all. Selective enforcement doesn't cut it.
