An Indonesian pop star has been sentenced to three and a half years in jail and a $25,000 fine over videos of him engaged in intercourse with different women on separate occasions. The videos violate Indonesia's strict anti-pornography laws, enacted in 2008 but largely ignored until recently.
Nazril "Ariel" Irham, a 28-year-old member of the pop band Peterpan, claims the footage was stolen from his home, and was never supposed to see the light of day. Unfortunately, links to the clips hit Facebook and Twitter, and spread like wildfire. Judge Singgih Budi Prakoso, who presided over the case, said the pop star did nothing to prevent the video's spread and showed no remorse. It's not yet known if the women in the videos will be prosecuted as well.
"As a public figure, the defendant should be aware that fans might imitate his behavior," said Prakoso.
The man who posted the videos without Irham's consent was sentenced Monday to two years in jail.

Oh, nice. So the dude's supposed to be able to control the internet?
Obviously, you should never record anything if you never want anyone to see it (common sense something could happen outside of your control), but isn't this guy a VICTIM? And what about the women? Did they know they were being recorded? I suppose they'll be sent to jail too?
