The parents of a young model are suing Urban Outfitters, two other stores and photographer Jason Lee Perry for $28 million for putting what they says is a “salacious image” of the then 15-year old on one of the company’s t-shirts.
The Daily News says Hailey Clauson, now 16, has worked with a number of famous designers. The photo shows the model on a motorcycle; the lawsuit alleges that:
“She is posed in a blatantly salacious manner with her legs spread, without a bra, revealing portions of her breasts.
“The image of Teen in a spread eagle position making her crotch area the focal point of the image may portray a child in a sexually suggestive manner and may be in violation of one or more federal and/or state laws.”
Philly.com quotes photographer Jason Lee Perry as saying he didn’t pose her for the picture, that she was sitting with her feet up on the bike “because the pipes were hot.”
The hot pipes of creepy old men are kinda what the parents are worried about and the suit also says that when they and Clauson’s agent, Ford Models, saw the picture they didn’t want it published and “never wanted to see such an image again.”
Ironic, though, that a lot more people are probably seeing it thanks to the lawsuit. News sites are posting cropped versions of the photo but it isn't hard to find the original on the Internet ... at least at the moment.
