If you believe the allegations, Joe Francis sounds like a man gone wild. But he says his cameras will show otherwise.
The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that the “Girls Gone Wild” founder surrendered to the LAPD Monday on misdemeanor charges, including three counts of false imprisonment, one count of dissuading a witness from reporting a crime and one count of assault causing great bodily injury.
The charges stem from an incident involving, of all things, three girls celebrating a college graduation last January at Supper Club in Hollywood. Francis allegedly took one girl by the hand and led her to his limo, with the others following, thinking they were being driven to their car; instead they went to Francis’ home where he attempted to separate one from the others, resulting in an altercation in which, the Times reported, “Francis allegedly grabbed one of the women by the throat and hair and pushed and slammed her head into the tile floor four times.
“The women were escorted out of the house and allegedly told a taxi would not be called and paid for if they called the police.”
His driver and bodyguard is also facing charges.
The Daily Mail reports today that Francis was released from custody after posting $50,000 bail, and that he says he threw the women out of his home after they started fighting with each other. He told the TMZ website that the episode was caught on his three surveillance cameras.
