The music video everyone’s been waiting for is apparently Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” Or, at least, everyone’s been waiting for it with 20-20 hindsight because now that it is out, we find we can’t even flip a page of the Internets without someone saying what they think of it.
-- The clip's wild images of creation have a joyous shock value, as well as the key element the song itself lacks: creativity. Daily News, New York
-- Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' video: Her strangest work yet? The Week
-- Lady Gaga says she didn't enjoy having sex until she was in a monogamous relationship. Grazia interview as reported by stuff.co.nz.
Huh?
Okay, so that last part wasn’t about the video, which we found sort of surreal and scifi-ish and artsy, and we don’t think Her Gaga-ness has jumped the shark. We found the interview to be more revealing and interesting, though.
“I never actually enjoyed sex until two years ago. It was a proper monogamous relationship in which I felt free enough to trust and I had enough self love,” she revealed in an interview with Grazia. “Sex is the ultimate expression of vulnerability and for me it was important to know that it was a proper relationship so it was sex as a source of love and nothing else.”
Kind of makes her sound like the girl next door, doesn’t it? Maybe that’s why we like her.
Anyway, here’s the video, in case you hadn’t found it already.
