We were waiting, waiting, waiting for just one little word out of the former Sen. John Ensign sex and ethics scandal before we brought it to Sex Feed, and today, that word came out. L-o-v-e.
From the Las Vegas Review-Journal, describing an incident in 2008 in which Ensign’s “spiritual adviser” talked to the now-disgraced and maybe soon-to-be-indicted ex-senator from Nevada:
“I know exactly where you are," the adviser, Tim Coe, told Ensign when he called him at the hotel. "I know exactly what you are doing. Put your pants on and go home."
Ensign refused.
"I can't. I love her," he told Coe.
And he later told Coe he wanted to marry Cindy Hampton, who worked for Ensign and was married to his top aide, Doug Hampton. The rest of it … well, you can read about it anywhere sordid political sex scandals are news, which means everywhere.
But we always suspected that this might be some sort of a love story. Because though love is grand, it can also make some people completely crazy and do incredibly stupid things. And we suspect that, for Ensign, it’s not going to help his court case.
