Longtime alternative newspaper editor and sex advice columnist Dan Savage is coming to MTV with a new show called “Savage U.” MTV cameras will follow Savage around the country on the college lecture circuit, where he’s popular for imparting the same sort of hilarious yet tough and pragmatic advice that he’s been dispensing in his column for the last 20 years.
Savage is perhaps better known these days for his “It Gets Better” anti-bullying campaign, “It Gets Better” has received more than 10,000 video submissions, including entries from President Obama, Anne Hathaway, Ellen DeGeneres, Ke$ha, Sarah Silverman and other celebrities.
Savage and his husband, Terry Miller have written a new book, “It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living.”
We’re a fan of Dan’s column and “It Gets Better,” and we hope the show works out great for him.
