Dan Savage has one little request of Rick Santorum. Well, it’s not so much a request as a hilarious piece of advice: Don’t attack gay people during your campaign.
Savage, as you remember, is the sex advice columnist and LGBT rights activist who ruined Santorum on the Internet. After the former U.S. senator made remarks about gay marriage that likened homosexuality to bestiality and pedophilia, Savage held a contest looking for reader suggestions to “memorialize the scandal,” Mother Jones reported. The winner redefined “Santorum” as “The frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.”
You know, I think it’s the “frothy” bit that really gives it a tang.
At any rate, search for “Santorum” and that definition is now the top result on Google, to the dismay and detriment of the presidential candidate. After Savage joked about Santorum (the candidate) on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Santorum swung back—and used the whole shebang as a plea for campaign contributions.
Now Savage has released a comic video on “Funny or Die,” threatening to also change the definition of the candidates’ first name to … well, you can watch it here.
See? What your mom said is true. Sometimes it does pay to just be nice.
