Most people seek some kind of spiritual significance in their lives. Just when you think you’ve found the divine path for you, they shut it down for being a swinger’s club.
The Associated Press reports that the Dallas city attorney’s office obtained a restraining order against Glenn Hudson to close “The Playground.” From the AP: “In its court petition, the city said Dallas police vice officers had determined in an undercover operation that the business was a “swingers' club” operating in a space that had a certificate of occupancy for a church, mosque or synagogue.”
Dallas/Forth Worth’s 97.1 radio station reports that undercover police officers went into the building—which had blacked out windows and no markings—and “saw porn playing on TVs, topless dancers, and a VIP room with beds and condoms.”
Best bit: AP says that according to the city statement, Hudson calls his business an “outreach mission.”
Okay, granted that watching a bunch of people in porn films saying “Oh God! Oh God!” a lot (or having sex right along with them) might not constitute a traditional church service, but we all worship in our own way. Who is to say the people involved—or watching—weren’t having a religious experience?
