And yet another church is in the news for its views on sex. This one's in Indianapolis, Ind., and it's called The Blended Church. It's non-denominational and non-traditional and it, too, believes God is pro-sex. And they, too, are pissing people off with their billboards. Only these are even less racy than the ones put up in Missouri.
One features a fully clothed couple, laying in bed, facing opposite directions and doing their own thing, and the other is a couple who appear to be in turmoil. We're guessing the real issue is the church's website, myemptysexlife.com.
One woman told Fox59, “My kids are pointing. I don't want to see that when I'm driving. I just don't. That's a little bit too much.”
Another, however, said, “No, I don't think it's too racy. I mean some people really don't have a good sex life. Everybody already talks about it, so I don't see what's the problem when they put it on a billboard.”
"Hollywood is speaking it. The Super Bowl is talking about it, so the church should be talking about it. We're just trying to be real and relevant and speak about issues that we face and that's a part of life," says Pastor Dehner Maurer, who leads The Blended Church.
Real is good. Sex is good. Real sex talk in the church? We're betting that'll be good, too.
