An Indian Premier League (IPL) cheerleader from South Africa was fired after she decided to speak out about the way cheerleaders are treated at after-game parties and celebrations. But she says she was just trying to be witty, and things have been blown way out of proportion.
Her name is Gabriella Pasqualotto and she cheered for the Mumbai Indians ... until she began speaking freely on her blog about her experience with the men on the team.
"We are like walking porn to them," she wrote, speaking about the cricketers' occasional handsiness and loose tongues. That's when she got fired.
Pasqualotto has been answering questions on Twitter with the name @Iplgirl off and on ever since. But she couldn't stress enough that she wasn't bothered by what happens behind the scenes.
"I do not regret anything. I had a fantastic experience that was positive. This is bigger than it should be!" she told her followers. And "It was never meant to be damning & damaging to begin with. So I have no intention to name& shame. I have lots I can say but wont."
She seems to be taking it in stride. And contrary to some reports, she says she's not planning on taking legal action. Good luck, Gabriella.
