And you’re probably worried you might not make it to the city clerk's office in New York City before closing time. Or maybe your bigger fear is that you won't make it through the line before they're kicking people out?
Never fear, Mayor Bloomberg is here! (Cue superhero music.)
The beloved (by many) mayor of the city that never sleeps has decided to extend office hours from July 24th to July 29th. But wait! That's not all! For those of you who work Monday through Saturday, Mayor Bloomberg's opening the city clerk offices on Sunday. They expect to encounter a huge influx of applicants thanks to the legalizing of same-sex marriage and want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to get through the process.
“This is a historic moment for New York, a moment many couples have waited years and even decades to see— and we are not going to make them wait one day longer than they have to,” Bloomberg said.
