DAVE GAMMON: I appreciate you taking the time out of your hectic schedule to join me here today. From what I understand we’re currently on set of Katwoman XXX. Describe what it is like working for Bluebird films.
ANNA LOVATO: What has it been like? Well it’s been simply amazing! I mean when I looked into getting into the business with all the other companies, Bluebird stood out to me because they always look like they have so much fun. I love it!
I love working for them. The feature films — they’ve just been really good to me. They’re a great company to work for all around.
DG: From an outside perspective it appears as though they put a lot into their productions. It’s really impressive.
AL: Yeah and their girls, they look after us so well. Even to the point of making sure all the small things are ok for us, like when we came here to America. When we got to our apartment they even had shampoo and conditioners and snacks in the fridge. They didn’t even have to do that. Skin products and presents, they’ve been really good!
DG: Sounds like they’ve gone the extra mile. That’s great. Describe what a typical day of shooting consists of.
AL: Well shooting in America is definitely longer than shooting in England. In England we shoot and we all leave within four, five hours. Yeah, a really short burst of time. In America our productions are better quality. The fact that they have different people producing and the end product is better, essentially. But it definitely makes the day longer. But that’s ok because they’re much better in my opinion.
DG: Anna, you’ve migrated from the United Kingdom. You’ve celebrated considerable success through glamour modeling as well as TV exposure. What was your biggest culture shock coming into the U.S.?
AL: Well its funny you say that because my Dad is American. So I actually have an American passport and an England passport. I’m both English and American. I lived there for a year. I went to high school in Memphis, Tennessee.
So I’ve had a year’s experience in America anyway. I would probably say that L.A. is very different, again; to the half of the southern American. It’s not as slow and relaxed as maybe Memphis is. It’s amazing! I love L.A. It’s so cool. I think the biggest culture shock is all the roads. And your men are so much bigger! And taller!
DG: How would you compare the North American attitude towards sex and sexuality compared to that of how sexuality is perceived in Europe?
AL: I think it’s really strange because in England we have page three models and they’re basically topless models who are in the national newspaper every single day and in their underwear. That’s normal. Topless is normal. Then you come to America there’s nothing like that. You don’t see models in every day newspapers.
And yet in America, their porn stars are actually stars. In England they’re not. In England it’s not glamorous per se, as it is in American. In America, you come here and you’ve got the AVN awards. And you’re actually seen as a star, which is quite nice.
DG: Who are some of the U.S. stars and starlets who you aspire to work with?
AL: At the moment I only do boy-girl with one boy. This year I’ve just re-signed for another year with Bluebird so I’ve got another whole year. I’ll be working with more male talent. It’s just deciding who would be good for that. I’m not really sure. I’m quite nervous because I’m new and I haven’t been doing it that long. I’ll definitely have to go onto the Internet, see if I can find some cute boy. As far as the girls go, I like Alexis Texas. I like Tori Black. Yeah, there’s loads of sexy girls out there. It’s just finding some hot boys now.
DG: Ok. Anna, define sensuality. What is a turn on to you?
AL: Someone happy with themselves. I think that it’s in the mind. It’s more to do with an attitude more than anything else. Being comfortable with yourself, I find that a turn on. Confidence, being happy with yourself.
DG: If you had to recommend one title only for viewers curious on Anna Lovato what would it be?
AL: I’d say Katwoman is a big one to look out for. Nikita’s another big one to look out for. Another called NipFuck.
DG: That is currently available to viewers already?
AL: [Those are] going to be next year. I think that if you were to look for one now….Sprint. That’s mine.
DG: Have you attended the conventions? The trade shows?
AL: I went to a convention in Miami last year. Exxxotica. I also went to the AVN awards. I obviously did that as well. I know that this year I’ll be travelling with Fleshlight. I think they travel to at least six cities. They try and do as many as they can. I’m sure as the year goes on I’ll meet more and more of the industry people.
DG: Let’s talk about the Fleshlight experience (Anna will be doing a Fleshlight this year). It’s a very eccentric and unusual undertaking. How would you feel about the whole process?
AL: When we got there I knew what to expect in a mould of my pussy. So I thought, well that’s going to be interesting. Then it’s quite nice to be immortalized in that way…
So I was looking forward to that and they actually were going to make a mould of my asshole, and my mouth. So we got there on the first day, a shoot with Fleshlight and the next day we did the molding. The molding was just bizarre! It was cold on the pussy but I found that the asshole was quite uncomfortable. But the mouth was the best one. That was fun!
DG: What was the plastering sensation like? What was it like drying and everything too?
AL: It’s very, very cold at first. And after that it gets hard, then falls off. It’s quite cool. The guy that was doing it was very relaxed. We had some music on and we just kind of sat there all day. It was so fun and just a great opportunity too, to do something so bizarre. So weird! Very cool. I can’t wait to see the end product.
DG: Definitely a way to be immortalized, like you’d said. That’s great. What are some of your career ambitions? Are there any web sites existing or in your future? What is the best way of fan interaction?
AL: For this year I definitely want to get a feature film from Bluebird. I know we’re coming back in October to do some work. So we’ll see what comes up then. I’m also trying to work with other performers; different American performers as well as just get better at it. Twitter? Yeah I’m on Twitter. Facebook, I find that a good mode of communication. I even have an email address through my website.
