The Vagina Monologues, written by Eve Ensler, was originally performed off-Broadway in 1996. Ensler initially performed each monologue herself, but subsequent performances have been divided among three or more actresses. Every monologue is related to the vagina, be it through sex, love, rape, menstruation, mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the variety of names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body.

YES! Thank you for this, Nina. Situational awareness is SO important for both women and men. I've never liked drinking around people I don't know. I like to keep my wits about me because you never know what can happen. Should bad things happen? No. Do they? Yes. And until rape and abuse is completely eradicated, we must do what we can to protect ourselves even if something bad still happens to us. At least we tried. I'd rather have tried my best to protect myself and have something bad happen to me than just gone around assuming people know better than to hurt others and get blindsided by something terrible.
