Sex isn't just something you do. Sex defines who you are. People like to think that sex is just behind closed doors and for some reason we need to distinguish between that "lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets" persona. That is not the way to go about it. You are who you are whether you are alone, with friends, or with your partner. Don't get me wrong, of course we may refrain from vulgar language near the priest, or exclude certain aspects of our weekend when discussing it with our parents. In the end, no matter how your story unfolds, you're still the same person wherever you go.
Sex is about choices, rights, and the freedom to be who you are while you're in the midst of passion. Sex is the most natural human behavior and does not need to be kept a secret because of fear. I love rough, passionate, crazy sex. On the same token I love a rough, passionate, crazy life style. You see, sex is a reflection of who you are. With that comes all the good, the bad and the ugly. I am a loving, giving, compassionate person no matter who I am with. Sexually that equates to me being submissive and experimental. I am a calm, patient, understanding person. I am not two halves of a whole that can be torn apart to fit some mold. I am ONE sexually charged, radiant being who exposes herself to the world. Sex is where we find that part of ourselves and the world is where we can show it.
Society will make you question your likes and dislikes. Society is this big black cloud hanging over all of us telling us how to behave and what it considers "normal." The thing is, we have to decide for ourselves what we consider right and wrong and to embrace our own sense of "normal." We need to embrace our sexuality and show society that sex is beautiful whether you like being bound and gagged or a simple missionary style. Your sexual desires play a huge role in who you are as a person. The two can not be torn apart to please this mystical continuum of disappointment we call society. What you do behind those closed doors is still going to be a part of you once you hit the streets. I say let's put away our fears and walk with our heads held up high knowing that we choose to be happy, to be ourselves no matter where we are, and to be free to make the choice to be ME no matter where I am or who I am with.
So next time you find yourself putting on that persona, ask yourself is this really me? Is it really worth it to try and hide who you are for people who would probably love you regardless of your wild sexual encounters? If you take even just a glance, you will see it is not worth the time and effort hiding who you are to please other people. You only live once and I plan to live my life with an open door policy. What you see is what you get. Your options are limitless when you realize that it is not worth hiding who you truly are. If you take only one thing away from all of this it is to remember this, come as you are not someone else.
