Every new mom thinks that after they have their baby they aren't sexy anymore; at least, I thought that after having my son. I always thought that I felt fat, and looked bad because of my stretch marks. I wasn't too worried about it at first, but after bonding with my son and everything, I started to think. Like most new mothers, I was embarrassed to have sex again just because of the way I looked. Even though my husband told me that I was not fat and that I looked good, I still had that doubt in the back of my mind. So I’m here to try and help you with feeling sexy again.
The First Thing
I think it’s easiest to start off by getting back in your old routine. Get up in the morning and fix yourself up. Don’t just lie around and feel sorry for yourself. Try getting up and taking a shower, putting your make-up on, and wearing your good clothes. But don’t put those old baggy clothes on - they will just make you feel worse about yourself. Doing this helped boost my self-esteem; it made me feel good about myself. Just because you are a mother doesn't mean you can’t take an extra 15 minutes for yourself in the mornings.
Try exercising, I don’t mean go all out. I know what you’re thinking, I can’t, I don’t have time. You do, you don’t have to go to the gym to exercise. Try going on walks with your baby around your neighborhood or to the park. After that and you are used to it, you can start jogging, but remember to drink plenty of water. Water is the best thing for you, not only does it keep you hydrated but it also doesn't have calories in it, you can drink all you want.
Another thing that helped me was having couple time. I know you’re thinking we can’t have alone time. But if you don’t have a good and happy relationship then you’re going to feel bad about yourself and cause tension in your relationship. It’s not just bad for you but bad for the baby too. So try talking to someone about babysitting every once in a while. It won’t hurt, I promise. After getting a babysitter, try going out for a nice romantic dinner and have fun talking, after dinner you can go see a movie or even go somewhere and have your intimate time. It will help you feel good about yourself, and it can also help your relationship grow stronger. I know becoming new parents is stressful but this will help. It helped me and I’m sure it will help you too.
