"For women, the best aphrodisiacs are words. The G-spot is in the ears. He who looks for it below there is wasting his time."
Eat for Hot Sex.
My fiance and I rarely bring food into the bedroom for the sole reason that we are both clumsy so it would end up in a mess. Recently I've been doing some research and a lot of foods that we wouldn't dare classify as "sexy" are being recognized as, dare I say, aphrodisiacs. Below is a list of "sexy foods" if you will, and how they can affect your sex life.
First up, Hot Chiles. I know what you're thinking, "If I eat hot chiles I'm not going to want to do it. I'm only going to be thinking of cooling my mouth off." Right? Well this is untrue. Capsaicin, a chemical in chiles, increases circulation to get blood pumping and stimulates nerve endings so you'll feel more turned on.
Next, Asparagus and Avocados. Now don't get me wrong, I love tortilla chips with a good guacamole, but asparagus? Studies show those icky green things mom used to make us eat are jam-packed with Vitamin E that helps your body churn out hormones like testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone, which circulate in your blood stream and stimulate sexual responses like clitoral swelling and vaginal lubrication.
Then, there are Bananas. One more reason to think of sex when you wrap your lips around this phallus-shaped fruit. They deliver Potassium, a key ingredient to muscle strength. Meaning, when you reach orgasm, the intensity of the contraction will increase ten-fold.
A guilty pleasure that we are oh too familiar with...Chocolate! Cocoa contains the chemical Phenylethylamine, a stimulant that conjures just the sort of subtle feelings of well-being and excitement that make sex seem like a great idea.
Oysters? Really? Yeah, yeah cliche I know, but these mollusks are brimming with Zinc, a mineral that cranks up the production of testosterone, which is linked to a sky-high sex drive.
Pomegranates! How yummy! This fruit owes its passion power to antioxidants which protect the lining of blood vessels, allowing more blood to pass through them. The positives? Increased sensitivity down below.
Nothing quite like Alcohol to get those frisky juices flowing right? Well, studies show Red Wine contains resveratrol, an antioxidant that increases blood flow before and during intercourse.
That sounds fishy you nutcase!! Yep, Salmon and Walnuts. They are packed with Omega-3 fatty acids, which keep hormone production at its peak. These acids can also be found in Pumpkin and Flaxseeds.
Mmm! Sweet, sweet Vanilla! After dinner, devour ice cream flavored with this sweet bean. It can stimulate nerves, making sensations feel even better!!
Last, but not least, Watermelon!! This juicy fruit contains the phytonutrient Citrulline, which causes a rise in Nitric Oxide in your body. That spike causes blood vessels to relax and speeds up circulation. The result? getting aroused in half the time.
So the next time you and your partner want to reach for something sticky in the bedroom like caramel and whipped cream and make a mess, opt for one of these aphrodisiacs and see how it improves your sex life. Thanks for reading!!!
