Poetry Slam
Find a local bar that has a poetry slam. Take your partner there and listen to some poetry. You can hear some really cool things. Oftentimes, they have open mic nights, so if you are feeling adventurous then go up and serenade your partner with a poem.
Sailboat Ride
Rent a sailboat or take a sailboat ride. A warning though, because these are small boats, this might be a bad idea if you get carsick easily, as you might also get seasick. Bring a bottle of champagne, if they will let you, and open it up and share some as you sail into the sunset. Make sure to bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses, as there often is lots of wind and sun. These can be really neat experiences, because you can often see birds, jellyfish and sometimes dolphins or whales even. Make sure to ask someone where the best spots are for seeing animals if you are going alone.
Scuba Diving or Snorkeling
If you live by the ocean and it is not too cold, a scuba diving or snorkeling date can be lots of fun. To go scuba diving you need certification, as there are some additional risks. So, you will need to put in some hours before you go, but taking those lessons can be a fun date night adventure too. When you are certified or if you are going snorkeling, take a look at the huge biodiversity the ocean has. I have gone lobster and clam digging, while snorkeling and it was a blast. We got to keep them and cook them up afterwards too, which was very delicious. If you do go, make sure to ask the local population where the best sights are. Often, they will know where the largest number of fish and animals can be seen. So take their advice seriously. It is often really good.
Kissing Night
This is a really cute date night. You take a hat or a box and you put in 40 different ways to kiss (you can find guides online). So you can do nose kisses, French kisses, a peck on the cheek, long kisses, all the kinds you can think of. Whenever each one of you wants to kiss the other person, they have to draw from the box and kiss the person like the card specifies. This just adds some novelty and fun to your nights. It’s a great way to be silly, and also to explore how you like kissing. You might find you really like one of the styles of kissing and will incorporate it into your normal routine.
Truth or Dare
Sit down with just the two of you, or with some other couples and play truth or dare. This is a great way to get to know your partner a bit better, as they will likely pick a couple of truths. The dares let you do lots of fun stuff too. If the two of you are comfortable, you can do some sexual dares and try out new things. This can just be a fun way to bring up hard to discuss topics and try out some new things you are a bit timid about. But do go slow and keep it reasonable. Now isn’t the time to spring something huge on your partner. If you are playing with friends it’s a great opportunity to learn what others think and do and how their relationship compares to yours.
Exchange Vows
This is for married couples, but you can re-exchange vows once or twice a year if you want. It’s a great way to rekindle your love. Recite your identical vows or come up with slightly new ones each time. Both are good ways to really show your partner how much you love them. Oftentimes, wedding dresses only get used once. If you want, you can throw it on again and get a couple more uses out of it and relive that special princess feeling of your wedding day, where you are just so happy. This is just a nice, private and relaxing date where you can really focus on your relationship and what you mean to each other and keep the commitment strong between the two of you.
