“A kiss can ruin a life,” Oscar Wilde said. Well, he was right about that. Or change one’s life for the better, or at least be the single best thing you do with your time all day.
A kiss just changed our perceptions of the phrase “outer Mongolia,” which we formerly associated only with Genghis Khan. Now we will forever think of it as the home of Dinosaur Fairyland, thanks to these wonderful photos from io9.com of these odd, kitschy, gargantuan sculptures in Erlian, China on the Mongolian border.
The area is known as a “fossil hotspot” and the massive sculptures of the Dinosaur Fairyland theme park were built to highlight that feature but the remote location means not many tourists come out this way. io9 quotes Atlas Obscura, which has a lot more fabulous photos about the one perk of the far flung location, saying it “means you will have the park all to yourself, except for the occasional men in military uniform that use the park as a thoroughfare to the bus station.”
Well, the Frenching dinosaurs certainly got our attention…how else did they heat things up enough to make little dinosaurs and thus leave fossils all over the play when they croaked? We might go for Valentine’s Day! All we want is free tickets and a guide. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
