If you're looking for a truly inexpensive, high-quality vibe, I wouldn't look any further. The PicoBong Ako is in a fabulous price range, which makes it easy for people who are hesitant when purchasing more expensive toys to "seal the deal" and go for it! Whether you're a power-queen or a beginner, this toy would suit everyone.

Pros
Body-safe Materials, Tons of Variation, Petite.
Cons
Would prefer it to be rumblier, and I wish it had a memory function like some others.
The PicoBong Ako, which continues to force me to sing "Pico bong bido dong bi dang bi dang biddy" EVERY TIME I read the name. However, I digress. This is a lovely little toy! Surprisingly so. Even with the great reviews I'd read before purchasing, I didn't expect it to be so great. Ako is best used for everyone, from beginners to power queens. He's best for clitoral stimulation; however, I've found, surprisingly, that this guy also makes an awesome body massager.
Ako is meant to be used along the shape of your labia, however I found it's best used when not applying direct stimulation and just slightly teasing around the clit. I don't recommend this for insertion anally or vaginally. I don't expect it would do much--it's very much an outie vibe, as the packaging states.
Ako is made of GORGEOUS body-safe FDA-certified 100% silicone. When I finally got to open it up and experiment with it, I kept holding it in my hand and caressing it (quite romantically, I may add). It's so smooth and velvety, you just don't want to let it go.
The cap is made of ABS plastic, as expected, and has a really great grip to it--I can't really see anyone dropping this little guy. PicoBong Ako is so delightfully firm, yet the silicone provides a sort of juxtaposition with its velvety matte texture--it's strange and wonderful at the same time. The silicone has no drag to it that I noticed, and it's so nice to be able to use it without lube if needed.
When I first opened it, there was a slight scent on the Ako but it wasn't really an odor. I don't really know how to explain it other than it smelled sort of earthy? It went away after washing with soap and water, so it wasn't a big deal for me.
PicoBong's Ako is ergonomically shaped to fit inside the palm of your hand, and it does so wonderfully. The "Outie" vibe measures 4 3/4" and is 4 1/2" in circumference, and is so much smaller than I imagined it would be. I expected it to be a bit bulkier but thankfully it wasn't. When I saw this online, I thought it was cute, albeit a little boring--you know, nothing exciting. However, what it lacks in appearance, it makes up in most other respects.
As I said in the Materials section, it's very grippy and you can keep a good grasp on it even when using it underwater due to the ABS plastic cap. This is uncommon in most other small clitoral vibes--they usually slip right out of your hands when wet.
I think Ako would be great when traveling, despite the fact that it doesn't include a carrying pouch. It doesn't exactly look like a sex toy, but it doesn't exactly look innocent either. I would recommend finding a pouch to put this in if you are traveling with it, just for safekeeping. I don't know if this is super-easy to hide--it's petite but it's also bright blue, and all of the shades of the PicoBong Ako are bright as hell--that might be a little bit of a deterrent if you want something more subtle.
There are three buttons on the Ako: the +(plus); M(mode), and -(minus) buttons. To turn it on, all you have to do is hold the + button down for two or so seconds and then keep pressing to intensify the vibrations. There are seven levels; they range from whisper-quiet, the first setting being only 1 bee and 1 vroom; to the highest setting which is 2-3 bees and about 4.5 of rumbly vrooms--super yummy. The M button is used for scrolling through the extensive list of vibration modes--there are 12, and it is so fun to click through and find the one that best suits you. My favorite is number five, which is reminiscent of a train rapidly choo-chooing, and the twelfth setting, which goes through all of the different vibrations hands-free--it's very exciting.
Ako is waterproof and works great during a nice, sudsy bubble-bath! It runs on two AAA batteries. The cap is a little hard to maneuver back on, but once you have it aligned with the little tabs, it goes on fine with a twist.
Ako is very easy to clean, and PicoBong recommends you do so with some antibacterial soap and water and pat it dry with a lint-free cloth. They also say to avoid cleaning solutions containing alcohol, petrol or acetone. As always with silicone toys, enjoy with only water-based lube and be sure to stay away from hand creams or massage oils, and of course, silicone lube--unless you want a ruined toy. Who wants that?!
Ako is packaged in a really nice, textured cardboard box. Mine is bright blue, and the quality of the cardboard they used is pretty nice--very matte on the back and it has rippled textures on the facade and sides. There is a clear cellophane peek-a-boo on the facade as well, which clearly states the fact that Ako is waterproof, near silent, has 12 powerful modes, is made of body-safe silicone, and requires 2 AAA batteries. Inside, there is a cardboard home to fit the Ako if you wanted to store it in its box safely. There are two little booklets: one is the user manual and the other includes the 1-year warranty that PicoBong offers. All instructions are translated in multiple different languages, which I think is fabulous and totally accommodating.
The packaging is pretty discreet--no naked ladies. The only thing non-discreet is that it lists its status as an "Outie Vibe", and you can see through the cellophane to peek at the toy.
I really love my Ako. It's got great, strong vibrations and, in my opinion, even though it's sort of between rumbly and buzzy, it has so many settings that would prevent you from getting numbed out by over-stimulation, it's wonderful.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it11 days after original review
I like Ako more than I liked it before. It's simple, and easy and just lovely. I recommended this to a friend and I usually don't do that. It's the thing I've been reaching for lately. Many happy endings!
