Use

I purchased Too Much after having previously purchased the Joy Pad, made by the same company, Dorcel. The Joy Pad has such wonderful, deep, rumbly vibes, that I wanted a fully insertable vibrator that has the same quality of vibes, and Too Much definitely does. The Too Much, like the Joy Pad, seems much larger in real life than it does online. In fact, I was a little bit worried that it might actually be too much! But I worried in vain.

This vibrator can be used vaginally, and it gives such a good full feeling without being too large. It could be used anally if you like your anal vibes large, and if you add a Vibrator Enhancer so that it has a safe base for anal use. Although, someone would have to be a dedicated anal size lover to fit all of this in. Personally, I'm reserving it for vaginal use. I'm not into using toys for oral use, but as I hold this toy, it does occur to me that if someone is into that, this would be a spectacular toy to use that way. The shape of the head, not realistic-looking, yet suggestive of a nice engorged penis head, along with the slightly draggy texture and substantial weight of the silicone shaft, might be just what you want to put in your mouth.

I also like to use it as an external vibe, because it has such strong deep vibrations. Setting it to the desired level of power and/or pattern, and then pressing a few inches of it against myself, from my clit to my vaginal opening, after spreading apart my labia, it gives really wonderful vibrations to the whole area. I usually need more targeted vibrations on my clit, but this toy is so powerful and the vibrations are so rumbly that it gives me everything I need when used in this way.

Material / Texture

The Too Much is made of food-grade silicone, and the silicone shaft is very dense and heavy. It feels very substantial when you're holding it. It comes in one color, a hot pink color that for some reason seems attractive to me, even though I don't much like pink toys. I think it's the combination of the pink and black, as well as the pink being such a deep, rich color. There is some texture to the shaft, both a slightly rough yet velvety texture on the whole thing, and three pronounced ridges on the top of the shaft. The head is also somewhat bulbous and adds another dimension of texture. If you are a fan, these textures make this a really excellent thrusting toy. The first time I used it, I had been using it externally as described above, with my husband watching, and he took control of the toy. After a few gentle thrusts, I begged for more, and the sensation of the harder thrusting surprised me. The head hit my G-spot perfectly, and the other textures as well as the large size really made for a sweet concoction of sensations. I love it when a toy surprises me like that.

The handle is plastic, and the control pad is a circle of silicone. There is a slight seam up one side of the shaft and down the other that can be felt with your fingers, but I didn't notice it while using the toy (I'm not at all sensitive to seams, however). Where the silicone shaft joins the plastic handle there is a seam, and then a narrow ring all the way around the toy made of smooth, shiny plastic. Then there is another seam, which is the join where the battery compartment opens. This join is not a tight seal and will let water in; I have actually found lube and fluid inside when I opened it to check the batteries. There is a little silicone ring seal inside this area, above the batteries, and none of the fluid made its way past the seal into the battery compartment itself, but nothing says this toy is waterproof and I would not submerge it.

Design / Shape / Size

This vibrator is about 8 inches long, with about 6 inches insertable. It ranges from a little under 5" to a little over 5" in circumference due to the ridges. It is best suited to experienced toy users because of the size and texture. I find the size and shape to be just about perfect for vaginal use. Again, if you don't like texture, it's probably not the toy for you.

This is a large and very bright pink toy, and nothing about it is discreet. You could travel with it, but it might put your suitcase over the allowed weight and cost you an extra chunk of change.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The control pad is an oval of silicone on the plastic handle. It has four button "areas" that are marked with +, -, and two quotation-mark symbols. There is something unusual about the way the control pad feels that I can't quite place. I think it's that it is not recessed; the top of the silicone pad is higher than the surrounding handle, and instead of having separate buttons, this pad just sits on top of the connections that control the toy.

It seems like it would be easy to push the buttons by mistake, but it's not. You have to push quite hard through the silicone to activate the connections underneath. The + and - change the intensity of the vibrations, and the other two buttons change the patterns. To turn the toy off, hold down the - button for a few seconds. I find it almost impossible to use the buttons without looking at them, because you have to push in just the right area to get each one to work, and they aren't separate buttons on the exterior, just the silicone oval with symbols on it. In contrast, my LELO Ina 2 has four separate buttons, which are much easier to use without looking at them because you can feel each one separately.

The patterns on this toy are unique. Again I will compare it to the Ina 2, where some of the patterns use the two motors independently; this toy does the same thing. In addition, this one seems to change the quality of the vibrations at times from more buzzy to more rumbly. Overall, the vibes are still very rumbly, but they do change at times and it feels interesting. It has ten patterns of vibration, which use both motors; sometimes at the same time, sometimes separately, changing the intensity in little bursts. They all feel interesting and nice, and the intensity can be changed in each pattern by using the + and - buttons. If you like patterns, Dorcel has you covered with this vibe.

The noise level is medium. On the lower settings, it's very quiet, but when you start using the vibration patterns or turn up the intensity, it gets quite loud. You would have to use background noise to keep it from being noticed outside a door at its highest settings.

The toy is powered by four AAA batteries, but feels like it's powered by four C's. I don't know how they get so much power out of just AAA's. But I'm not complaining. The intensity is a solid 4 "vrooms" and partway to 5.

Care and Maintenance

Because the Too Much is silicone, don't use silicone lube with it, and store it by itself away from other toys. You should clean it with soap and water, toy wipes or cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution for extra disinfection. Pay special attention to the seams I mentioned above, especially the area where the battery compartment attaches to the shaft (you should open the compartment cover and clean inside, because fluids will collect there).

Packaging

Too Much comes in a white box with a picture of the toy on the front, and the sides have tasteful yet unnecessary pictures of a nude woman on each. There is text on the back in several languages that doesn't say anything useful.

The toy is inside a plastic holder in the box, with an information sheet.

The packaging is modern and tasteful, even with the nude women, but not discreet.

Personal comments

I really love this toy, and I know it will be in my regular rotation. Even though it's a simple looking vibrator, the complex vibration patterns and the textures make it interesting. But most of all, those deep rumbly vibes get me every time! I hope Dorcel keeps releasing more toys in the future.

Thanks for the review! It's too bad that the control pad isn't more intuitive in terms of "feel" and ease of use and that although it is not waterproof, fluids still get in quite easily. It's a bit of a shame because overall it seems impressive vibration and design wise.

Great detailed review! Don't think it's for me though because of the noise

Fantastic review packed with tons of information! I agree with you about companies putting nude women (even tastefully nude) onto their boxes - what on earth are they thinking? Without them, the packaging looks so much classier. Thanks for your feedback!
