This little butterfly can be seen as quite the dynamic one, if you keep in mind that the bullet can be removed from it. The main use is obvious - to sneak it beneath your clothing, to give your partner the remote, and anxiously wait for when they will flip the switch on the somewhat sizable winged bullet.

You could also use it during sex; it doesn't get in the way, and could be used to add that extra little bit of excitement and pleasure to the act. And if you want to change things up, or don't want to deal with the straps, you can always just take the bullet out of the plastic pocket and use it as you would any other bullet.

My partner refuses to play with anything that has a really strong (bad) odor to it, but she was pleasantly surprised when I got us this toy, as it didn't smell at all. The material around the bullet itself is fairly pliable and makes it easy enough to remove the bullet inside. Though, it can sometimes seem as if the rigid bullet doesn't want to go back into the butterfly. It is fairly soft, and I want to say that it is perfectly safe for beginners - especially since the ribbing on the toy is almost negligible. My partner is quite sensitive to textures, but she said that this toy didn't bother her at all.

The shape really is what you would expect from a butterfly toy. The design is simple, but cute in a delightful purple that contrasts really well with my partner's black lingerie and dresses! The body of the butterfly is big, just like the bullet itself, and is about as wide as it is long if you count the small wings.

And speaking of the wings, I purchased a similar item a few years ago for a previous partner. On that product, the wings were entirely too big and hurt her by pressing up against her legs. The Venus Butterfly however, has fairly small wings - and didn't dig into my partner's skin or hurt her at all. However, the straps did.

Though the straps stretch really well and fit a large amount of sizes, the buttons at the ends can be a tad too loose. We had to be careful when putting this toy on, because the string would sometimes snap back.

The vibrations reach all throughout this fluttering butterfly, but it was greatly dampened by the thick body of TPR silicone between the bullet and my partner, and really did not do enough for her. Normally, she loves bullets and will play with them for long periods of time, but with its cover on, it didn't please her. However, outside of the butterfly, the bullet works just fine. Still, this is a real shame, but at least it makes sure that it remains quiet! As long as we stuck with the lowest setting, or the one above, it remained quiet enough and would be perfect to take out to a public place. However, it is a bit big, so tight jeans were out of the question.

The remote is very simple, one button for on and off, the other for the seven functions on it. The distance it works at is really a hit and miss thing though. In fact, it was our experience that it would only work if you really pressed down on the buttons within ten feet of the bullet, and pointed it at the bullet, and even then it would only work 20% of the time. In general... too finicky to use!

Another bad thing is that it drained batteries fast, even when we were not using it. I noticed this when it stopped working the second day, so I stopped leaving the batteries inside of the bullet. Though, maybe that was just a hint towards the toy being broken - something that lead to us being unable to test if it truly performed within water or even outside of it. Luckily, it comes packed with two charges worth of batteries. So that's certainly a pro!

Really, there is no need for lube for this toy. I wouldn't have had to worry about the TPR Silicone material to start degrading. However, I was still careful enough not to use any silicone lubricants around the material when we tested it, just in case. I'd cleaned it before and after use with the toy cleaner we have sitting in our toy box, after which I'd dry it off and put it in the same box. A minor problem is the actual process of cleaning it.

Whilst the material is certainly pliable, and removing the bullet and cleaning the two parts separately is no issue, it is hard to put the bullet back in if any part of it is still moist, as it'll 'stick' to the plastic. So I had to ensure that I dried it off properly.

The buzzes of this toy were not strong enough through the thick body of the butterfly to really get my partner going, the straps snap due to the loose buttons, and the fact that the bullet just wouldn't activate properly added to enough annoyance that when the bullet itself finally stopped working the next day, we didn't buy a bullet that could fit the big sleeve.
