Vive la Liberté!!!!
Despite breaking the Liberté, I have found this to be an excellent little vibrator. It is made of silky soft silicone and is sized so that it's more versatile than its larger brethren. I loved it on my P-spot, and my girl's clit and the Liberté made quick friends.

Pros
Quality silicone, easy to clean, waterproof, excellent shape, good vibrations, good price.
Cons
Tough to get batteries out; easily broken if dropped.
California Exotics Liberté 1 is a neat little silicone vibrator that features multiple speeds and vibration patterns. In addition to that, the Liberté also has a great shape that I found to be quite nice for stimulating my P-spot.
Off the bat I should say that this is not a large vibrator at all. Since I am a guy, this makes it actually usable as a P-spot vibe, whereas most other vibes are a little on the large side for this use. The Liberté has a really cool shape that features a pronounced double ridge on the top surface that undulates up and down, finally terminating in a sweet little head. When I first set eyes on it after opening the package, I was really excited by the shape. My initial excitement was not for naught, as I found this little guy to be right at home buzzing against my prostate. The indentation between the double ridge and the head get right to where I want it, and I found the choice of vibrations to be great. I have never been a huge fan of extended vibrational stimulation to my p-spot, but I like the Liberté because it has several pulsing patterns which really get me going. Thrusting the toy felt great as well.
Since this is not a toy that is designed specifically for anal use, some caution must be used here. The Liberté does not have a flared base, so using it as I have been using does requite some attention. My experience with dildos has been that they feel good at a certain position, and that is against my p-spot, so they just don't get drawn in any further than that because it's just uncomfortable. That said, plenty of people need to make that embarrassing visit to the ER every day because their asses liked a toy too much.
I also like to use vibrators on my penis and around my body, and for this purpose, I felt that this toy came up a little bit short. It's small in size and really not great for stimulating the penis for traditional masturbation like a larger vibe would be. Being silicone, it transmits vibrations well, but they are mostly focused on the tip, whereas other silicone vibes I've used do a better job at distributing that vibration evenly. I used the Liberté on my lady friend the other day, and she loved it on her clit. Unlike me, she didn't care for the pulses, but it's great that you have the choice of what vibration you want. It would be nice to have multiple buttons to control the vibration settings, saving you the hassle of scrolling through when you mistakenly press the button while just on the verge of cumming your brains out... Buttons aside, this is a pretty discreet toy so far as the noise that it makes; the vibrations are smooth and quiet.
One thing that I find irritating about this toy is how difficult it is to get the two AAA sized batteries in and out. The sleeve that holds them in the toy has a pretty tight tolerance, and the batteries don't just drop in as they are in contact with the sleeve. This is a minor annoyance given how much fun I've had with the toy though. As far as silicone toys go, this one is fairly rigid overall, and for that reason I find it works well anally.

Experience
Sadly my time with the Liberté was recently cut short when it fell in the shower (it is a waterproof toy). This caused the gasket that seals the batteries from the control head to unseat, and I have so far found this impossible to get back into place. I am going to send it back to California Exotics to have it replaced. This toy has a 30 day warranty from the date of purchase. I very much look forward to getting my broken Liberté replaced!
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
Once I got my replacement vibe after the original broke, I've enjoyed using it from time to time. While this is certainly not my "go to" toy, it is fun to use when I do, and I find it is a fairly able anal toy, despite that it was not really intended for that I don't think. Definitely a lot of value here, and I would still recommend this to anyone that is looking for a quality vibrator, but doesn't have a pile of many to throw at it. With this vibrator you get high quality and silky smooth silicone, variable speeds and vibrations and a really interesting shape that offers plenty of pleasure potential.
