Sex toys are wonderful, they each suit a specific purpose. In some cases we can adapt our toys to suit other purposes, but in some instances we buy toys with a certain use in mind. We enjoy tantalizing each other in public, and we have tried vibrating panties(see our Astrea review). We figured a remote egg was the next logical step in our public provocation, so when we got the opportunity to review California extotics Waterproof remote egg we were eggcited to say the least. We enjoy toys we can play with together, while it's using on one another, together or solo play in front of one another.

The Waterproof remote egg arrived and we couldn't wait to use it so we put the included batteries in and gave it a quick field test. The egg is made of a hard plastic(ABS) that is very smooth, it comes in one standard color pink, and is transparent revealing it's inner workings. It has a cord that doubles as a handle and antenna when the egg is inserted.

We cycled through its basic functions(externally, just holding it), and found the programmed settings to be unorganized. It did feel good pressed on her clit, and it was amusing watching it jump like a Mexican jumping bean. We decided to reserve any judgment for later and put it away till later that evening.

Both the remote and the egg are made of ABS plastic, which is non porous and can be used with any type of lube(if you need it). It had no smell of plastic or chemical when we took it out of the package. It may be easier to maintain insertion without too much lube, or else you may find yourself training kegel muscles.

The Waterproof egg measures 3 1/2" x 4", with a circumference 1 1/4", it fit well for her and the shape was well designed for insertion. It varied from some of our corded eggs which are less cylindrical and more oblong. The design of the remote leaves much to be desired. There is no indication as to which programmed setting you are currently on. With the absence of any organized hierarchy of program settings(i.e. slow, medium, fast, slow pulsed......)it's difficult to know what your doing. This is a real downer when you don't have the freedom to ask your partner How's that feel?", like when your in public.

The controls are not well thought out, it lacks the basics, California exotics may have tried to out-think themselves with this toy. Perhaps we are just too particular, but the strong settings were way too strong and the few soft settings were inadequate, Mrs.'s did notice certain positions accentuated the lower vibrations(leaning forward seated). Honestly who has time for all that. We agree with the other reviews regarding the battery life if left connected, remove the batteries when your finished or change them next time you want to use it. We did get a couple uses out of fresh batteries.

We found our egg to be completely waterproof when submerged, so cleaning is a breeze. Regular soap and water or toy cleaner does a good job. Thorough drying before opening the unit is always a good idea.

We want to love this toy, and maybe with some re-programming it will be a hit. We like toys that we can share, and we envisioned using this toy at a restaurant, or on the dance floor to get the night started early. We were let down by the fact that you have to shuffle through all the different functions to get to one that you finally can tolerate. We were also disappointed in the modes, why have all these fancy patterns if you haven't mastered slow medium and fast first. Finally a toy like this screams partner play, otherwise why have a remote. Are we seriously too lazy just to reach down into our groin to adjust if were having solo play? With no indication of what mode your using it takes a lot of the fun of trying to tantalize a partner, and it makes it near impossible to do it effectively in public. We are going to continue to search for that perfect egg.
