Unexpectedly Disappointing

I really hope that when I try this little one again, I will be blown away. I really had high hopes for the Rabbit Pearl and even though I had bought rabbit vibrators in the past, I finally took the plunge to get the one that started it all. I wouldn't necessarily recommend against buying it, but I would shop around elsewhere if any of the points I addressed below are of great concern.

Use

The Rabbit Pearl Purple was made infamous on Sex and the City and has continued to be one of the most sought after dual-stimulation vibrators. So when I was given the rabbit pearl for review, I was eagerly anticipating the day that it would arrive on my doorstep. Breaking open the slightly distasteful packaging was like Christmas morning, but that's pretty much where the excitement ended.

The rabbit pearl is ideal for both couple and solo use, and the wired remote may be preferred by some. I had always figured a wired remote controller would be better than having the controller at the base, but it's not. You basically have to use one hand to keep the vibrator in place, unless you have kegel muscles of steel, and the other to access the controls on the remote. It's a toy that I would say may be a tad too much for the beginner, but definitely a good fit for an advanced user. For beginners, the size is a bit big, and it may take some time working up to.

Material / Texture

Unfortunately, the Rabbit Pearl is made of jelly. Jelly is a material I am not particularly fond of, and after purchasing my first vibe, which was made of jelly, I tried to stay away from the material. At first touch, jelly is sticky in a way that feels greasy, and if you mind texture, like I do, it kind of makes you want to hold it with the tip of your fingers and chuck it in the trash. After washing it in soap 3-4 times, it felt cleaner, but again, it is a material that you should be careful with because of its porous nature.

The shaft of the rabbit pearl is modeled after the real thing, so it has a bulbous head that really stretches you upon insertion. There is also a creepy little face at the head made with little ridged dots, but it does not really add to the texture.

Design / Shape / Size

As the name suggests, the rabbit pearl has a pint sized rabbit clitoral stimulator attached to a shaft. The rabbit vibrates whilst the shaft rotates. The magic of a rabbit depends on the clitoral stimulator and the rotations of the shaft.

Shape-wise, the Rabbit Pearl is standard, and the bulbous head is a bit wide and may scare a first-timer. Up to 5.5 inches on the Rabbit Pearl is insertable, but for some reason it feels very shallow compared to other similar vibrators. This may be due to the pearls.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Function, that is probably my biggest gripe with this vibrator, aside from the material its made of. The rabbit pearl up to this point, like every other rabbit and should set girls' hearts aflutter everywhere. Yet, it left this girl very, very disappointed.

First, the rabbit pearl runs on two C batteries. Although this fact is written in the product description, some people may have missed it. C batteries are expensive. Two C batteries make the remote feel like working out at the gym. It also makes this vibrator a great weapon against burglars, but it does not make it a comfortable toy. The upside to C batteries is added power, so imagine my surprise, when there was no added power. At that point, I really did not understand why I was making my relaxing session, a sweat-worthy benching session.

Second, the clitoral stimulator was pitiful. The ears are long and do not conduct vibrations well. Instead, I found myself desperately pushing the rabbit's face down. Maybe, I'm just not a fan of the rabbit sleeve, but I really did not find it very satisfying.

Third, the shaft feels shallow and rotates confusedly. The shaft is on the moderate side and has pearls at the base of its insertable length. The shaft can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise at the push of a button. So far, so good. But the pearls are hard to insert, and they don't hit the g-spot. While rotating, you barely feel anything.

Lastly, the controls are set up to control the clit stimulator and shaft separately, which is great. But when the rabbit is pushed to its max, the shaft starts to weaken and vice-versa.

Care and Maintenance

With any jelly vibrator, some extra care and maintenance will be needed. Some recommend always using a condom with a jelly vibrator, but that might be a pain. You should do so when sharing. Therefore, remember to always thoroughly clean this little rabbit. I used soap and water, which usually does the trick.
