The Venus butterfly is weak and hard to adjust to find the right spot. Though it has great features, they don't work well in realistic environments. It is designed to tease, but like any prolonged teasing it just ends up annoying everyone. In short, this toy has little to offer anyone and there are better options on EdenFantasys, whether for hands free fun, waterproof exploration, or naughty play in public. This toy is more of a novelty than a stimulator.

Pros
The harness and bullet are waterproof. The toy looks cute.
Cons
Remote control is not waterproof. Battery hog. Noisy. Weak vibrations. Bulky.
The Waterproof remote control Venus butterfly can be used to stimulate the clitoris and labia regions. It is worn similar to a harness with four straps that go around the hips and legs and can be adjusted to fit most sizes. The vibrating egg fits inside a hallow rubber butterfly and can be turned on to vibrate at three settings, escalate, or pulse. Though the Venus butterfly bullet is waterproof, the remote control is not, so the entire toy cannot be operated within the shower but must be turned on before hand, or operate by someone just outside. The wireless controls can work up to 15 feet away, though in our experience, not effectively through walls.
This toy will best be used as a 'teaser,' and is recommended during foreplay. It is always nice to bring foreplay into the shower or bath as well as the bedroom, but even though it could technically be worn 'anywhere' we do not recommend using outside of home. Due to the bulky feel and size of the toy (the bullet being about the size of a medium egg) it is not easy to sit down while wearing it or to conceal underneath clothing to tease at a club or over dinner, even though it is a wireless external vibe.
The material used for this toy is TPR Silicone. The butterfly itself is soft and flexible; the egg shaped bullet is more of a hard plastic and is not bendable. The straps on the toy are similar to those found on a backpack and are not necessarily comfortable when worn against the skin — though the feeling is better when submersed in water. As with most silicone materials, the butterfly is a dust magnet so it is best to clean the toy before and after each use. If you are not familiar with silicone toys, you should also be warned that you cannot use silicone based lubricants, as they will run with the toy and ruin it, so use water based only.
The butterfly itself feels soft, with several nubs running up the base of the butterfly sleeve for added texture, as well as the wings to stimulate the labia, and antenna which ideally we believe should stimulate the clitoris, but we were never able to find a position that really accommodated the design of the toy with the female anatomy. When the toy is in place it can accommodate basically any sexual position but it does not stay in one place easily and will move around when it's wearer moves, constantly needing to be readjusted.
This toy is probably best described as 'finicky' as the harness is not easy to slip into and the butterfly will not stay exactly where you want it, assuming you do find a position that works for you. While worn it is not easy to hide this toy, and the bulk would appear like a 'package' under clothing. This toy is best used at home, and though it is 'hands free' you can expect to be moving it around a lot unless you are satisfied with vibrations anywhere in the general area of your genitals. The bullet also has a rough plastic pull cord to help remove it from the sleeve that may cause irritation if it rubs up against the skin during play.
The toy appears discreet but if you are using it for travel, mind that the harness can easily get itself caught on other objects as it often does in our sex drawer, and will be picking up any lint it comes in contact with.
You will need 6 watch batteries for the egg and one AAA battery for the remote. The toy comes with batteries but it also eats through them quickly in about 2 hours of use. We like to use rechargeable batteries when we can so this is one more little inconvenience about the Venus butterfly.
The Waterproof remote control Venus butterfly offers several vibrating speeds: low, medium, and high, as well as pulsating and escalating functions. The vibrations of the bullet are not very powerful when dampened inside the butterfly sleeve, and should only be expected to 'tease' and not push someone over the edge. We found it is hard to pinpoint and adjust the harness to find a spot that works, even with the vibrations on high, and despite the low intensity of the vibrations, the toy can be very loud, especially when pulsating and escalating.
The remote control can be fun to use for partner play if you enjoy both figuratively and literally giving someone else the power over your pleasure. However where the Venus really drops the ball is in giving any real pleasure at all with the awkward placement of the butterfly and the weak vibrations. The Venus butterfly's best feature is that it is waterproof, yet even here it falls short. Sadly the remote control to the Venus isn't waterproof, so the holder of the controls cannot share it’s best feature — water friendliness. The controls are not difficult to use, with only an on/off button, and a button to scroll through the controls starting at low and going to high, and then pulsating and escalating. Though it may be tempting to take this toy out in public, we recommend you don't bother as it is bulky and uncomfortable to wear for any extended period of time, let alone loud and with vibrations so weak my girlfriend complained they were annoying her rather than stimulating her.
We find that the best way to care for the Water proof remote control Venus butterfly is to wash the sleeve with warm soap and water and let it air dry thoroughly (usually overnight) before inserting the bullet. If the bullet is left in the sleeve it is possible for moisture to be retained and mold to grow. The bullet has a plastic cord that hangs out of the sleeve, which is useful because the egg fits in the sleeve very snugly. Even with the cord it is sometimes difficult to remove the bullet for cleaning. Again remember that this toy is made of silicone, so if you do use lubrication it must be water based.
Storing the toy is difficult. It is easy for the remote to go off and waste the entire battery life so we recommend removing the batteries both from the remote, as well as the egg, before storing. The harness is easy to get tangled up which is another nuisance, so we try to keep the Venus butterfly in a separate drawer from all our other toys.
The Venus butterfly looked like an awesome toy with the features of being wireless and remote controlled, as well as waterproof to boot; but when it boiled down to using the toy it fell short of all our expectations. I was looking for a toy that could be used for teasing in public, and if that is what interested you about the Venus butterfly, keep looking, because it just isn't practical for that purpose.
When we tried taking the toy out in public my girlfriend tried to wear jeans. It is incredibly obvious, even in loose fitting jeans, that something is there, maybe a banana. It was not comfortable for her at all and she hated sitting down with it. We tried again with her wearing a skirt. The harness still bugged her and she hated how the Venus was always slipping around, usually too high and nowhere near where it should have been if it was designed to stimulate the vaginal region. After prolonged use in public it felt irritating for her and I was thoroughly annoyed with it as well. In the bedroom or shower it can be fun for a couple but it still falls well short of expectations.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it5 months after original review
This toy is still too bulky and awkward, weak, short lived, and lacking in the many potentials that one would think should come from a discreet and remote operated toy.
