The Vibrating Tulip 5 Function Egg by Eden toys is for clitoral stimulation, but can also be used on the nipples and other parts of the body that are sensitive to sensory play. The Tulip is made from a rigid and smooth PU coated plastic. On the packaging it states that the toy is silicone, so it's uncertain whether it's actually PU or silicone coated plastic. PU coated plastic rates a seven out of ten on the Eden safety scale and lists itself as being latex and phthalate-free. The toy has no taste or smell when taken out of the packaging, and feels velvety to the touch. The coating on the toy is somewhat porous, so you'll want to refrain from sharing between non-fluid bound partners unless you use a condom. When lubricated, this toy becomes slick and slippery, making it somewhat hard to handle.

The design of the egg itself is specifically made for target stimulation of the clitoris. It has a forked shape at the end that 'hugs' the clitoris as it vibrates. The egg is attached to the remote via a PVC cable and is not detachable. On each end of the cord running into the egg and remote are rubbery o-rings that keep water from entering either object. The remote itself is a perfect fit in the hand and features a screw-on base and a push-button pad for the controls.

The egg is 2-5/8" in circumference and 1-3/4" in length with a 3/4" diameter. The remote is 4" in length, 1-1/8" in diameter and 3-9/16" in circumference. The cord is 23" in length.

Unscrew the base of the remote to reveal the battery compartment and another o-ring for the waterproofing capabilities. On the rim around the battery compartment there are instructions for how the batteries should be placed in the toy. The remote takes two AAA batteries that fit snugly in the base of the remote. On the remote are two buttons, an on/off switch, and the button to cycle through the five functions marked as 5. The buttons are easily pressed and make a clicking sound when pressed.

The egg is small, fits between two fingers and is friendly to all levels of users. It's easy to hide if a user needs to, and will fit in small bags or luggage if traveling. If you're worried about TSA checking your bags, this toy is not discreet enough to hide what it is used for.

There are five functions to this toy that are controlled via the remote attached by the cord. Turn the toy on, and the vibrator buzzes to life, with a light that coincides with each function. Cycling through the vibrations requires clicking the 5 button. This button is easily pressed with one hand while the other is holding the egg in place. When the toy is turned on, the user is met with a light buzzing sound on the first setting, and when the user cycles through each setting after that the buzzing gets fairly louder to the point it can slightly be heard through a door.

Each time you turn the toy off, it remembers where it was the last time it was turned on, even mid-pulse. The best setting on the toy is the high steady vibration, that delivers a long, drawn out period of vibration that will make the toes curl and the back lift from the bed in joy. However, the vibration does numb after prolonged exposure in the fingers, clitoris, nipples or wherever else you decide to use it. It is a battery guzzler, and after about two hours of use the batteries were clearly losing power. If you're willing to buy the batteries for this toy, it's worth the price point.

The toy was submerged in a bath of water for an extended period of time, and held up without malfunction, thus proving that the waterproof promise on the box is indeed, true. Whilst in the water, the vibrations still held up well, and were still just as powerful as out of the water.

Caring for this toy is quick and simple. You can wipe it down with a toy wipe or toy cleaner, or simply wash it in warm, soapy water. Be sure to use a soft-bristled brush to get into the seams and tip of the toy and be sure to clean it thoroughly. You can also sterilize the toy by using a 5% bleach solution made of 95% water, and 5% bleach. When storing the toy, store it in a cool, dry place and remember to remove the batteries to prevent corrosion.

The box states that the toy should only be used with water-based lubricant. Because of being unsure of the material, I suggest following the suggestion the box.

Discreetly shipped in a cardboard box without the contents plastered all over for everyone to see, the product is shipped with air pillows to prevent the toy from bumping around. Inside of the discreetly shipped box with the air pillows is the receipt and the toy package. The packaging for the toy isn't discreet as it has a photo of the toy on the front and it says "Vibrating Tulip" in big lettering, but it can be used for storage or recycled if the user wishes to do so. The cardboard of the box is sturdy and holds up well to rough handling if you wish to use it for toy storage. The box is also informative, stating what lubricant to use and that the toy is waterproof.



Inside of the box, the toy sits inside of a plastic shell. The box can be wrapped in gift wrap or a gift bag if you're gifting the toy to someone.
