This Rockstar Deserves an Encore

This vibe really is a rockstar. It does exactly what it was designed to do with a bit of flair. The Stevie got an encore from me!

Use

The Rockstar Stevie is a vibrator specifically shaped and designed for targeting the G-spot. It has a shaft that curves and a round but flat head designed for the g-spot. It can also be used as a clitoral vibrator, but I would stay away from internal anal penetration because there is no flared base. It would be okay for external anal stimulation. I find it too flexible to use for all over the body use, personally.

The vibrator can be used solo or with a partner. Its well-designed shape is perfect for beginners looking to find their g-spot. It also appeals to those interested in a quality toy that is not the stereotypical pink and purples. The Stevie comes in black and a sea foam green color.

Material / Texture

The Stevie is made from silicone and plastic. The silicone is matte and velvety and the plastic matches the texture of the silicone. However, the plastic is very hard, whereas the silicone is flexible. There is no odor or taste to this toy and the silicone insertable portion is a ten for safety. There is a very smooth, barely noticeable (even with fingers) seam that runs the length of the silicone portion.

There is a band of silver plastic in between the two materials that looks like the studs on a belt. It fits the Rockstar title of the vibe. This studded texture cannot be felt during use, though I did not insert it that far, and is purely decorative.

Design / Shape / Size

The Stevie is designed with the g-spot in mind. The shaft is curved with a flat, round head. The motor is located in the head so the vibrations are targeted directly to the g-spot instead of in the base of the toy or along the shaft. The vibrations travel well through the silicone.

The base of the toy acts as a very convenient handle during use. It is ideal for holding on to and adjusting the pressure of the head on the g-spot. The handle also features a dial wheel control that has indents to help grip on to. My complaint with this design is that it is hard to operate one handed, but at the same time it is hard to accidentally change the speed in the heat of the moment.

The cute studded band reminds me of my days when I wore studded belts, band shirts and listened to bands that I thought were just so hardcore. Its fun and is not tacky in the execution of the theme. It does not feel or look cheap.

Though not a realistic vibe, it is easy to tell what it is, so I would say it isn't very discreet.

Functions / Performance / Controls

As mentioned previously, a dial wheel on the round handle of the toy controls the Stevie. The toy can be adjusted anywhere in between low and high, to your own personal preference. There are no pulse patterns or bells and whistles, but in my opinion there does not need to be.

The Stevie runs on two AAA batteries. The plastic cap screws off and the batteries are a tight fit to get in and out. A note on screwing the cap back on: if you screw it as tight as possible, the toy won’t turn on, so do not screw it too tightly. The threading is longer than most of my other toys and it has a nice o-ring, which both help make this a toy you can take in the shower or bath with you.

The Stevie is not a powerhouse like the Hitachi or similar toys, but it is enough to add to the rocking motion I use to stimulate my g-spot. While not totally silent, the Stevie is far from loud. The noise diminishes internally and under a blanket. It is just a bit louder than my phone’s vibrate setting.
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

Since the Stevie is made from silicone, it is only compatible with water-based lubes. The silicone is also non-porous. The toy is easy to clean because it is waterproof; I just use water and anti-microbial or anti-bacterial soap. Due to the motor the toy cannot be boiled. The toy attracts some dust and lint, but not as bad as other materials or toys so I would suggest storing in a box or storage pouch.

Packaging

The Stevie comes in a clear plastic box decorated with old-school tattoo designs and information about the toy. It advertises the material safety and functions. No instructions for care are given. The plastic is on the flimsy side and I think it is useless for long term storage. It is cute enough to give as a gift though as it is far from trashy. The box also says you can register the product for warranty on Doc Johnson’s website. I found that it is near impossible to find this option on the site. As of writing this, I cannot figure out how to register the toy. I have Googled "Doc Johnson warranty" but the website says the page no longer exists.

UPDATE: The warranty page is now up on Docjohnson.com under the "Customer Service" tab! Turns out they were revamping the website so somethings got mixed up.

Personal comments

I received the Rockstar Stevie as an assignment and I purchased the Eden-favorite Lelo Ella along side it. Both are similar shapes, though the Ella is more slender and has a head that is more oblong/oval shaped than the Stevie. Ella is also firmer than the Stevie. Otherwise, they are more similar to each other than other g-spot toys out there. I would think if the Ella worked for you the Stevie would be a safe bet. I loved using them both together.
