This Robin Rocks ... But....

I was torn, give it 2 or 3 stars? I ultimately gave it 3 based on awesome performance and the fact that I have seen it on sale often enough making it worth it for under 45 bucks. This I feel is just not worth over 60. It is rubber, needs maintenance, the material appears to be cheaply made but it rocks. I am glad I got this for free. There are much higher quality vibes that are comparable that would be a better purchase. If you buy this, do so when it is on sale.

Use

The Throbbin' Robin is a standard rabbit style vibrator intended for simultaneous internal and external stimulation. It can be used in partner play, and I have used it this way, my man using it on me while I gave him a bit of oral pleasure, which was nice, but this is MUCH better as a solo toy. I wouldn't pull it out of the toy box for partner play again but have certainly pulled it out for solo play several times. It's meant to go inside you and hit your clit at the same time. One use really. It is a bit of a noise maker too so make sure you have your door shut and you probably want to be under the covers too if you have a room mate or thin walls. It is definitely NOT waterproof so using it in the shower is a no go.

I feel the size and functions of this would work well for a beginner, or some one new to rabit style vibes anyway. It would take them a bit to work out the controls but other than that I feel that this would not be a bad starter vibe, if it were cheaper anyway. The size and function of this, plus the sheer strength of the clitoral vibrations make this a go for more advanced users as well.

Material / Texture

The throbbin' robin is made out of rubber. Ewwww right. Well most people believe so, since rubber only gets a 3 on Eden's safety scale. Rubber is porous and can not be sterilized. While the integrity of rubber is high and the material itself is long lasting, to keep this clean long term you would have to use a condom/cover over it. That kinda sucks in my opinion. I hate having to cover toys.

I personally will give a rubber toy a go since it does not bother me to use it with out a cover a few times, clean it well before and after each use, dispose of it after those few uses and then move on to a different toy. But I usually will only pick rubber in a less expensive toy that I find interesting but wouldn't be sad to get rid of after a few uses since it is so porous and can harbor those nasty bacteria.

The toy is squishy and somewhat flexible in this tip/head but does contain metal balls in the shaft and is not flexible over this portion. The material feels a tad bit tacky to the touch, even after a few washes and did have a rubbery smell when I took it out of the package. I flat out refuse to put this in my mouth to sample taste so if you get this and you're curious have at it, but it's taste can remain a mystery to me. The texture is smooth, no ridges or swirls. There is some very squishy ridges over the are of the shaft that "thrusts" but it really can not be noticed when this vibe is inserted. The metal balls inside the shaft add some extra stimulation when the shaft motor is turned on.

The clitoral attachment is also rubber and is pretty flexible and somewhat soft so that the terrifyingly pointy beak on this thing does not hurt or stab your clit. Just stimulates it well. The handle/control area and battery compartment are all made from plastic.

Design / Shape / Size

The design I must say is pretty good. The shaft is a good, solid 6 insertable inches, and it must be inserted this far for the clit attachment to hit your clit. The clit attachment is a detailed robin with a VERY pointy beak that looks intimidating but it is not. In fact this is the best part of the vibe. The clit attachment is very flexible and can be manipulated to hit the clit on a wide variety of anatomies. The robin is about 2" long and there is a very large bullet/motor inside of the body of the bird. The clit arm on this thing is one of the best points of this vibe.

CLIT ARM - FLEXIBILITY

Now back to the shaft. The tip of the shaft resembles the head of a penis and is wider than the shaft itself. The girth of the shaft is decent, not to wide and not too narrow. It a moderate 1 1/2" in diameter, which for me was perfect since the shaft rotates and thrusts. The toy itself is an entire foot in length, which makes it ergonomically friendly and easier to control. The control panel is on the front, near the bottom, the battery compartment is on the back side at the bottom. The cover of the battery compartment doubles as the handle and has finger grips/indents on it making it fairly comfortable to hold on to.

SHAFT

Now here's a bit of a bitch rant. The battery compartment cover is a P.I.T.A. Pain In The Ass!!!! My hatred for this battery compartment burns like the fires of a thousand suns. Grrr. It's terrible to try to take off, it sucks to get it back on. It is plastic and no matter what it just never seems to want to go back on properly and I am just waiting for the time that I end up breaking the damn thing while trying to get it back on.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Performance is where the Throbbin' Robin really shines. It flat out does the job and does it well. I'll get the mildly confusing controls/functions out of the way first though. I put a picture of the control panel in here rather than break it down.

The rotate button when pushes once starts the rotation. The second rotation button when pressed after the first one will increase the speed of the rotation. Press on of the rotation buttons again, either one, and the rotation will go back to the starting speed. To turn the rotation off you have to press the last rotation button that is depressed to turn the rotation off. This may sound confusing. It is confusing until you play with it a while and figure it out. The clit vibration control works the same way. Push one button for on, push the other one for the high vibration setting, push one of them again to put it on to low and the last depressed button when pushed will turn it off. There is also the light indicator, which is red and blue rapidly flashing lights that are almost strobe like and I do believe if you stare at them to long you may have a seizure. I just don't use them because they are distracting and not actually fun. There is also a reverse button that changes the direction of the rotation which I do frequent since it does change the sensation.

The roation feels very nice, the metal beads inside the shaft are very stimulating with being too much. The two speeds of the rotation in my opinion would be slow and moderate. There is an accordian style area at the base of the insertable shaft that thrusts in and out about an inch and a half or so and this feature is on when the rotaion is on. The thrust is slow and gentle and would work well for a beginner.

The vibrations of the clit arm on the first setting are strong and more of a medium than a low. They are deeper, more rumbly vibrations and on this setting I can get off. The high vibration is excellent but at times can get a bit strong for even me, and I just so happen to be a power whore. The beak though it is pointed provides a nice tickling/teasing/flicking action on your clit, and I LOVE this. The way this vibe functions and performs is excellent and definitely the best thing about this vibe.

The one thing to note is that with two motors and various functions this toy ends up being on the loud side. And it is flat out not discreet. It is purple, and it is pretty but it is clearly meant to go in your vagina and it does scream sex toy.

Care and Maintenance

This vibe is moderately a pain to care for. It should be cleaned before and after each use with a toy wipe or wiped down with a toy cleaner. It is not waterproof so if you do choose to use soap and water, make sure to remove the batteries, keep the water away from the battery compartment to prevent corosion and I would suggest washing only the insertable shart with water if you must so there is less chance of you ruining this toy. Also to keep this clean longer it is recommended that you use condoms/toy covers over it. I feel that this vibe works so well that as much as I hate having to cover a toy, I will make an exception and get some covers so that I can continue to use this safely.

It takes four AA batteries and getting them in and out due to the battery compartment is super annoying. So far the same set of batteries has lasted me for several uses and have not started to lose power on me yet, though I do take them out after each use, which is also recommended to prolong battery life.

I store my toy right out in the open for now since I have no prying eyes or roommates, but I would like to find a nice container or pouch to put this in since it does have hair/lint that tends to stick to it. This toy is large and you would need a larger toy box or pouch for storage.
Rubber toys can be used with silicone or water based lubes.

Packaging

This came in clear plastic, cheap clear plastic I might add and was plain as day in the pachaging. It would not be ideal for sturage either, since it was big and bulky. There were no instructions included either, and I flat out would not give this as a gift. I do not believe that the low quality of the material and the cheesy packaging would not be impressive. On the plus side the plastic packaging and carboard insert inside are both recyclable.

Personal comments

I flat out love the way that this toy performs. There are many cons to this though. It is not waterproof. The rubber material is not of the best quality, the toy externally seems to be cheaply made. The battery compartment is stupid and I HATE IT. It also has controls that are mildly confusing, and it would have been nice if instructions were included but I was able to figure out how to operate it. Instructions would have been nice though. In my opinion, if the mechanics of this toy, the vibe and rotation, the same motors and internal design were used in a better, safer material I would say this toy is totally worth the price of over sixty bucks. It being made of rubber and of a poorer quality externally just makes it not quite worth the money.

THE THROBBIN ROBIN
Follow-up commentary
This is a fairly decent rabbit and I still like it. It definitely gets the job done and it has not failed me yet. And on the bright side I have not broken the battery compartment yet as I though I would. While this is a poor quality material and not a high end toy, it's performance is great and I will use it until it dies. I wouldn't replace it though. I would shell out a bit more cash for a higher quality rabbit next time, but overall this gets used for it's intended purpose.
