The Symphony Sonata Is Not So Harmonious

All in all, this toy is a good gift for a friend who you don't intend to spend too much on. It’s also a good first toy if you’re looking to explore rabbits before committing to spending big for a nice one. However, when it comes down to real play, it’s a dud. The vibrations are lacking and the toy is not sturdy enough to withstand anything more than a little bit of messing around. If you are serious about your solo/duo play I would move along to something more solid.

Use

The Sonata is a rabbit-style duel simulator produced by Evolve. It is designed for use vaginally and may be used for either solo or couples play. It is intended to be used for both insertion and outer vaginal play. I cannot and would not recommend it to be used anally due to the lack of a flared base (regardless of the dolphin). It is made from latex-free TPR, which is not the best material, but it is hypoallergenic. It is also waterproof making it safe for shower/bathtub play although I never tried that with this toy.

Material / Texture

The material is latex-free TPS . Although it’s hypo allergenic, it is only rated a 7 out of 10 on Edenfantasys’ safety rating scale. It also has a tendency to carry a smell and taste. I find that it’s hard to clean sometimes due to a strange filmy-like feeling it has.

The vibrator itself is textured with waves and dots throughout. The feel of the vibrator is moderately flimsy; it bends a lot which is problematic when it comes to the rabbit/dolphin. I find the texture to be a little annoying when trying to clean the.

Design / Shape / Size

While the design of the toy seems adorable in the box, I was let down when it came time for actual use. The waves are not really noticeable for anyone who is used to texture and the dolphin is nothing too unusual or innovative. It's just kind of cute. Although it’s advertised as being angled for G-spot stimulation, the vibrator is actually a pretty straight shot.

Size wise, the toy is approximately 8 inches long with only 4 1/2 insertable inches. Anyone who likes penetration should probably avoid this toy. The circumference of the toy is about 4 3/4 inches at its widest point which is a decent girth. Again, there is nothing too worthy about that.

The flexibility of this toy is something I admired at first. Unfortunately after only a month or two of ownership, the area where the dolphin meets the insertable portion of the toy began to rip; something I later found out is common with TPS.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The functions and controls of this toy are extremely simple. There is only one bottom at the base of the toy and three speeds that the toy can be set to. Clicking once will turn the toy on and bring you to the low setting, clicking a second time will bring you to medium, three times to high, and clicking a fourth time will turn the toy off.

The toy’s performance is mildly unimpressive to me. The vibration is a bit buzzy and at its strongest, I would say it was only three vrooms and two bees; not quite loud enough to be heard over thick blankets. There is a motor on the head of the dolphin but I find this motor to be unbearably weak and not really noticeable.

The Sonata takes two AA batteries that fit in the compartment beneath the button at the base (which easily screws off and on). In addition, this toy ate through batteries a little too fast for me (faster than most toys of a comparable price range). I used weaker batteries (dollar brand) as you are supposed to with toys (you don't want to ‘over juice’ the motor).

Care and Maintenance

Maintenance of this toy is fairly simple - just use an antibacterial toy cleaner. If you intend to use this toy with a partner (sharing, etc.), I strongly recommend the use of a condom as TPR cannot be boiled and is lightly porous. As it is waterproof, you can soak it in mild soapy water as the ridges in the texture can be hard to clean because they are not as rounded and moisture can get caught in the grooves. As far as storage is concerned, keep your Symphony Sonata in a pouch when not in use and try not to keep it anywhere too hot.

Packaging

The packaging for this toy is actually pretty nice. It is not very discreet but it comes in an aluminum style bow with clasps on the top and bottom that fold over. It has a window that displays the vibrator. Not much is included with toy. It would make a good gift as the packaging is very presentable.
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I owned this toy for about a year before the motor died despite how careful I was with battery usage. Overall, I was just unimpressed and do not recommend it.

Experience

Personally, I find this toy to be completely lackluster. I cannot achieve orgasm during solo play with it. Even my husband has a hard time pleasing me and we often end up switching to a different one.

Aw! I'm sorry to hear this was not a special toy for you. I don't have this particular one, but I have Flutter and Sugar, which are two other dual action toys from this same line. They all have the same vibrations (I think), and both Sugar and Flutter really do well for me. They're actually the best cheaper vibrators I own. I hate that this did so little for you. Thanks for sharing though. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on this.
